I just had to share that my daughter had the best sleep last night and therefore, so did I. After three one hour naps yesterday, which were great in and of themselves, Brooke went to bed all by herself after a bath at her usual 7:30PM. She then woke at 9:30PM for a bottle and then went down, again all by herself, at 10PM. Here's where it gets good, she didn't wake up until 2:40AM!! That's almost 5 hours. Her usual is 3-4! Then laid back down at 3AM and slept until 6AM, yes 3 hours straight when she usually is up every hour after 4AM. That's still not even the best part, she talked for a bit with my mom and then fell asleep until 8:40AM. I got to sleep in past 7AM for the first time since she was born!! I actually got up and got breakfast for myself before I heard her get up. I'm sorry but I am so excited. I doubt that'll be her norm from now on but even just once and awhile sounds good to me.

Your family is beautiful. That is great to hear that you got a good nights sleep. We all need our rest every now and then. :) FYI...I am sure you feel like a million dollars today, but try not to over-do it, you will find yourself so tired tonight, and if a good nights sleep is not normal for you or the baby, you will find it hard to "catch" up with sleeping, making yourself more tired for the next few days. Glad to hear you got breakfast. When my daughter gets on the bus, I have some fresh cinnamon rolls. Yummy! Have a great day!

So happy to hear you so happy. (^^,LOL) I think Brooke is gradually changing her hours of sleep, and you'll have more time to sleep and rest now. I had a hard time too, when my children were newborns. You had to feed them almost every two hour. Not counting the diaper change and the constant feeling that maybe they are not breathing.(^^,LOL) I don't know why, I couldn't enjoy totally my sleep. And I had to check from time to time, or just feel their chest rising and falling. Well, they are 5 and 4 years old now. But always have this habit. I think that's why mothers are mothers. Just can't explain the feeling of being happy of everything new from your baby. Enjoy motherhood my friend! Enjoy life and stay always happy! *hugz* Take care! (^^,)

I agree with you, I truly hope she is changing her pattern of sleep! I never really worried that she was breathing, but she does breath pretty heavy so I can usually hear her(crib is in my room by the way). I'm glad to have a forum to talk about this type of stuff, most of my friends do not have kids and get all the sleep they need.

That's so wonderful! I know exactly how you feel right now. There is nothing like getting a decent nights sleep after months of being deprived to lift your spirit. It's like receiving the best present in the world. I can still remember the first (and only) time my daughter ever slept through the night WITH NO WAKINGS! 8 HOURS! OF UNINTERRUPTED SLEEP! I woke up, saw that it was light outside, and was so confused I had to lie in bed for a few minutes to figure out what was going on. I was able to go downstairs, eat breakfast, watch a little t.v., and check my e-mail before she ever woke up. I was beside myself! Couldn't believe it! I felt amazing that day. Like a new women. She is only 6 months old, so I don't expect that from her, but BOY WAS IT NICE, lol. I'm sure I wont be experiencing that again for a long, long time but what a treat it was. I'm very happy for you and look forward to the next time I get to experience such a break myself. Have a wonderful day and enjoy that little extra bit of energy you've got!

How much does your daughter sleep now at six months, Sarah? Brooklyn is 5 1/2 months old and like Aphroditei said I think she is gradually changing her sleep patterns. I don't expect a whole lot of sleep with a baby this young but even if she sleeps for a few hours straight instead of waking up every hour after 4AM would be nice since that is when I seem to have alwyas slept the best!

Well, you're not going to believe this but Natalie is asleep by 7:30 p.m. every night and sleeps until....get this...7:00 a.m.!!! Sometimes she'll wake up once or twice during the night and cry for a minute or two but she goes right back down. Her napping schedule has been changing almost daily lately but her bedtime and the time she wakes up at has stayed the same for a few weeks now so I'm starting to think this is going to be her regular schedule for awhile and I'M LOVING IT!!! I can't believe how lucky I am but I'm thrilled!
