We Need Moderators At Mylot

I just came across a discussion started by a member who was talking about one of his discussion that was deleted by Mylot coz some member reported an "Abuse" on the post. I think Mylot should not give the "Abuse" right to everyone. I do agree that some of the members are on the "Hit list" of some other members and they are being selfish. One of my discussions too disappeared. The discussion was ........... "Mylot May Be Earning 0.5% of your Earnings"........ all I was talking in that discussion was the fact that if you get your Paypal A/c registered through the Paypal A/c on Mylot........ Mylot would gain....... Mylot will get 0.5% of what that member earns on that Paypal ID....... for the rest of his/her life.. It was just a discussion to make members aware that such a referral program exists under Paypal and that the members could use the referral id in their Website / Blogs to earn more money. Was that discussion "Abusive"....... We need Moderators here......... we do need them

As far as know it is against the rules to talk about earnings and money etc. This topic will probably also be deleted.

why should it be deleted? It's only a section and if you don't like it, you don't have to go there.. To talk about money it's one of the many interests we may have, and if it doesn't hurt anybody, where is the reason to be deleted?

I agree with you that there should be some thing like Moderator privileges which should be granted to some people who are very active here on mylot. And who can be trusted up with this responsibility. It would be good for the sites status.

I know of several members here who would make great moderators. It would be nice if myLot would allow some of us to help clean up the site.

a member reports abuse but it is mylot that decides if it is or not. As long as they can handle it themselves this way I like it. If you feel that your discussion should not have been deleted you need to complain to mylot.

Moderators are normally on non-profit making forums. MyLot is a business and although we have fun here as well, myLot must look after the interest of their business and their decision is final.

NO! We don't need moderators here on myLot. It's a terrible, bad idea. Moderators always, always tend to abuse their extra buttons of power and always side with their friends and start grouping and performing witch hunts. Especially if chosen from the regular members. No matter how fair and just they think they are, no matter what rules they try to uphold, Moderators just don't work. In addition, people tend to suck up to moderators and then they think they are gods and i assure you, they will act like ones. all justice is lost. I am happy with myLot's current judgment system . MyLot is not a closed community music forum for God's sake! Trust me on this. the day Mylot decides to appoint Mod's, it will be the end of it. END OF! I was a moderator once upon a time of a certain music forum, then got promoted to an admin. I resigned and got rid of it all for i wanted no part of the gossip and groupings. You have NO IDEA the amount of suck up's, hipocrates and 2 faced liars coming up to you, coruppting you, not to forget the amont of enemies i have made. . Trust me when I tell you myLot needs no moderators. who do you think you report abuse to anyway?

So maybe more "abuse report analists"? Because we definitely need to clean this site a bit. I've been away for a couple of days, but I can already see what has happened during this time... More of those silent moderators, definitely.

I agree that we need moderators. I have also noticed the fact that many people are complaining about that. I have a friend here on mylot who just posted a discussion saying that she is upset with it because many of her discussions got deleted. I don't know if some of my discussions got deleted but maybe some did because I don't pay attention. There might be some people who just love to hit that - and ! buttons. And if they don't like you they can just go to the discussions you started/answered and hit the button on all of them. They don't even have to respond for them to be able to do that. Just hit the button... This is so easy to do. I do agree that we need moderators or if we can not have those then at least make it a little harder to rate someone by answering first for example. This way it will take a long time to rate all the discussions lol

It could be that someone reported this discussion you mention as abuse, but then someone on the mylot admin would surely have reviewed it to make the decision to actually delete it. Hard to know actually and yes moderators can be good, if they do the right thing, without overstepping the bounds that is. Some forums do have moderators or monitors who are also highly visible in the forum. That means they have the title and everyone knows who they are. It is hard to fathom out how and who makes the decision to delete certain discussions. I notice that it did happen yesterday, as while I was reading a discussion and the responses, the rating of one member dropped in front of my eyes. Now that was a shock to see it happen, so obviously they had deleted something. I am not sure on the policy regarding discussion money but there do seem to be a lot of new discussions going on all the time about the very same subject. Maybe it was because mylot was linked to paypal in this case.

we should not give the power to decide the content to the community which could be liable for misuse, but as you suggested need to have special moderators,

MyLot makes the final decision, not the member who reports the abuse, so the site is actually being moderated. The trouble is that they get tons of abuse reports and have to go through them all and decide what to remove and what can stay. Some of the moderators are actually pretty good, and others probably not quite as good. I guess that if you don't agree with their decision, you could always ask them about it.

there used to be a certain group they called mylot police but I could be wrong, this was months ago when I realized they exist. I don't know if they still exist now but you can search discussions about that if you want. I don't even remember if they are called mylot police or something else and not clear on how they police mylot because if it's only reporting spams then members alone can do that. My post count always goes down 4 - 8 every month, the worst was 2 days ago I think, this time 17! but since my earnings are not affected and my star stays, I think I'm safe to keep posting :)

I know that it is against the rules here to make wrong facts about earnings here at myLot so maybe they thought that fell under that even although it doesn't/ So how do they make 5%, I thought that they only had in a referrals % for merchants/businesses. I think I will find out my referral id and target all the new users cos I am constantly telling people how to sign up for paypal.

I agree with you,we need moderators here. The newbies need guides and almost all of them want to know how to earn money here and how the receive the money. So many discussions on this question. And many Mylotters complained that their discussions are deleted with no reason, the moderators should answer their queries. What's Mylot really need someone to control the "stealing discussions",Mylotters should have our own right to protect our rights.
