This is a Paypal account related problem.
A friend of mine is just below 18 years of age and yet to get a credit card. Now,the problem is paypal needs us to verify our physical address and we need to add a credit/debit card for that and enter the expansion code we receive from payapl at our physical address to verify it.
But as my friend can't have a credit card at this age and she being a resident of a country outside US can you suggest another way to verify the paypal account?Could we use our parents cc to verify our paypal account when we are living at the same physical address as our parents.
Can you suggest some solution to this problem?

It USED to be (and the rules may have changed) that you could verify a PayPal address with a bank account, or by having them physically MAIL a letter with your activation code to your home. However, I set up my PayPal account nine years ago, so that may have changed... and it may also be different for people setting up accounts outside the US. I just know that my account was verified by bank account, not credit card... but it took about a week to do, because I didn't have online banking, at the time so I had to wait and actually GO to the bank and get an account print out after they made a couple of small deposits in my bank account.
The main problem is that each country seems to have its own rules-- in Denmark you can use a bank account... but I don't know if the rules for India are different, sorry.

Hi Denmarkguy .Thanks for trying to help!! Yes, mine too was done without adding a credit card six years back when paypal was not owned by ebay. So, I was little surprised to know that adding cc is mandatory.Perhaps that isn't necessary and we can still do it without the need of a cc.I am trying to find out if I could get some help with this . Thanks again!:-)

I don't think you really need to verify your Paypal account. If she has a US bank account, she could use that to verify her account but I think it isn't really necessary. Though I think they would just impose a sending limit on you if you don't verify your account. If she really needs to verify her account, I suggest that she opens a dollar account with an american bank in her country so she can link it with her paypal account.

Around 6-7 years back when I had opened my account and it wasn't verified ,that's the exact thing paypal did to me.My limit was $2500 at that point. So,you are saying she can still withdraw the funds even if her account isn't verified ?( just that there will be a limit).
If that is true then that's the best possible thing and would be exactly how I thought it should be ( and was ).The US bank account in her country is another great suggestion. Thanks for the brilliant suggestions,Natalie!:-)I am sure it will help many and not just her!

sorry,i cant help.
my paypal account havent verified yet.and it's my first time to use paypal since i am on mylot.
i think your friend can use her/his parents' paypal account, and when she/he is up to 18,the money can be transfered to her/his own account.that is all i can think out.hope you will get some better ideas.:)

Ya there is an easy fix. Just link it to a bank account then you can transfer the money over to the account free of charge but takes usually 7 days. If you link it to an bank account especially her own that will verify te address and you can recive payments. Hope this helps you out.

If you have a checking account (bank account) you can do it that way. I don't know where your friend is located but normally at 18 you can get a checking account. I didn't use a credit card nor did I have one at the time. After I typed in the information, I had to wait for paypal to deposit two tiny amounts into my checking account, then I had to go back and type those amounts in at the site. All of that took about a week. I don't know if you can do it that way. If you can though, it's not that hard.

Yes, Chertsy,I got my account verified exactly the same way,by entering the expansion code they mailed to my postal address and didn't need a cc,but that was 6-7 years back.It seems they have made some changes.I 'd be happy if an alternative option is still available. My friend is still 17.Thanks for the info,Chertsy!:-)
