The addiction

When I got my first tattoo, I thought that it would be my only one. Two years later, I have five tattoos, and plans for major tattoo projects later on. My first tattoo was a small ankh on my lower back. After that, I got the Chinese characters for "serenity" on the other side of my lower back, and an Eye of Horus above my ankh. My fourth and fifth tattoos are the Norse runes "dagaz" and "wunjo," which mean, respectively, "dawn" and "joy."

I dont have a tattoo yet but I do want one eventually. I think people get addicted to it because it looks cool and they like the results so much that they want to keep it up. Knowing me I will stop at 1. I can only handle so much pain.

I WANNA GET TATTOOED REALLY BADI dont mean that i want a horrible tattoo.

I am the same... i got 1 tattoo and that was ment to be my only tattoo (an ankh on my left shoulder blade) now i have 6 of the things and want to get at least 1 or 2 more when i have children of their names. I have 2 purple paw prints on my right wrist, a heart on my lower back, rosary on my right ankle onto my foot and my husbands name on my left ankle. My newest one is of a devil heart and an angel star wrapped in grey mist

i only have 2 right now but i have a small list of what i want to get currently i have a butterfly on my back and a yellow rose on my hand

Hi I agree. I love my tats and I am always adding to them..... I have over 50 now!! I am F and live in Wales

i think the threat of pain makes people weary of getting tattoos, but once you get one and you see it isnt anything horrible, then its easier to get another.. and the more you get and the easier it is to talk yourself into another. i got a lotus on one of my legs and once i made that commitment (of dealing with not wearing skirts to work) it was easier to say "i'm gonna get my whole calf done!"

I have 2 for the moment, the first was done for my 18th birthday by a friend - it's a baby grim reaper on my left shoulder blade, then my partner got me another one for Xmas that same year - it's a purple dragon blowing flames on my right shoulder blade. I do want another one, with my daughter's name on it but i just haven't found anything that would be perfect, or where i could put it! I was thinking of maybe a rose & Lily tangled together (her name's Lillian Rose) but i just cant find the right one. If we have more kids, then there will be some more tatts :) I'm just so indecisive - which makes things hard. Any ideas on where i could get my daughter's name & the picture put?

I agree ...once you get one you want another then another. I personally got my first one when I was 18. After that I wanted another bad.....I was addicted to them...but I took my time choosing what my next one would be....and I also wanted to mark a milestone in my life....so my first year at a four year university I got another one to mark me spreading my wings in a new place and being social butterfly by meeting new people that I would have never met in my hometown. Now since I have graduated and moved back home I once again thinking about getting another.
