I have gone through depression and had a very difficult overcoming it back in 2002. I went through outpatient therapy as well as impatient therapy to help me get well and overcome the feelings of wanting to not live anymore. I only wished that I would die but tried taking my life as I know God would not like it. I was willing to get help on my own and after 2002 with the help of my friends and family and counseling I am back to my old self and doing well and am not taking meds or seeing any doctors anymore for depression.

I don't think I have ever wanted to end my life although I have felt like my life was hardly worth the effort of living it. I suffered with depression a number of years ago and now in the past month a wave of depression has swept over me that I am really having a difficult time shaking. It is affecting what I do. I am really having a struggle writing and participating in discussions now where before I was really enjoying it. I am thinking about seeing a doctor and seeing if some meds might help me get through this. Before when I was depressed, I went back to school and studied for a change in careers and that helped me dig out of my depression. I think you need to keep busy and have as little time as possible to think about your woes and surround yourself with positive people. Keep a diary of things that been good in your life each day.

The best cure for depression is to get out and do something just for yourself don't worry about what others think just take time for yourself and do it, friends and family can be a big help call them often or just pop in on them and say hello. You have to think of positive things and not let the things that are depressing you control you life, it is your choice to sit and think all these negative thoughts and be depressed only you have the power to get up go for a walk enjoy something you like, just do it.you can't please everyone so just be yourself and get yourself back up and happy and the rest will fall into place.

i agree with you too. by involving yourself in positive activities, your mind will soon follow up. depressed people needs a life outlook makeover..i got over my depression by involving myself & keeping myself busy with activities. it was suggested by my parents at first, and i was reluctant to do it but now i thank them everyday for it. for without them, i seriously dont know where i'd be today

everyday is my worst day. bet that. deprression is really hard to overcome especially when no one knows you;re in it but i try to overcome it by smiling so often. life can't be as bad as it really was if you smile, evethough, you know yourself it's fake but atleast you made someone's day special by your smile.

Well, sometimes its unavoidable that we feel depressed for the day..but for the health its not a good side, i believe in Meditation which will balance our mind and helps to be normal at situations

Life is not an easy road to travel and we have to overcome all the obstacles that comes our way. There are times when we wish that we were not born and complain to God why only to me?. But i am sure everybody has their own problems and from my experience i should say the bigger obstacles we face today makes our life easier for tomorrow. So, my friend be strong and keep on holding and give some time to take decisions than time is a healer. All the best.
