I believe that it was the most horrible thing that has happened in the US besides the 9/11 attack. I think that it was very unfair that those people had to suffer the way they did for so long. Does anyone else feel like something more could have been done to save the lives of those people. When I read the papers and saw pictures I was shocked and mortified to believe that our country is that uncaring about other people besides their own. An I agree with the statement that Bush doesn't care about black people because if he did he definitely would have gotten things back to the norm alot faster like he did for the people that lived on the coast. I know that alot of people may disagree, but it all depends on how you look at it. Is there anyone that feels the way that I do about the victims of Hurricane Katrina? How do you feel about Bush and his views on handling the victims?

I think president Bush sucks. Katrina may have been and gone but thousands of people are still displaced and familys are still being disrupted. I think Bush should have done alot more to help, he has spent billions of dollars on the war but he cant do it in his own country. I realise that the majority of the housing was for black people but that is no excuse, these people still have familys and feelings. If its not bad enough that they have lost everything that they have and possibly family members as well but then their president who is supposed to care for the citizens of his country made a huge stuff up with trying to rescue them and then over a year later is still doing the same. NOTHING. Get a grip BUSH and start looking after your own.

To begin with, "bush doesn't care about black people". So what your telling me is if everyuone down there was white there would have been more help? REALLY think about that for a moment. That is a rediculous statement. If he didnt care about black people then why does condolesa rice have a job in one of the highest cabinate positions in the white house? Or what about Colen pPowel before her? What happened down there was the result of horrible disorgnaization in F.E.M.A. In addition to mayor Negan's ineptitude as well as that of the governer of Louisianna. Top this with the aditude of people who refused to evqacuate the areas. If I was in their shoes, even if i didn't have transportation, i would have carried my kids out on my back before the storm to get them out. To try and put the blame on one man is a rediculous statement.

What more should Bush have done? ANd how can you possibly claim Bush doesn't like black people? Are you aware that President Bush has the most and the highest appointed minorities in history? What about Colin Powell? Condileeza Rice? And all the other minorities, including black people he has appointed?
New Orleans failed, the people that stayed failed, and most importantly, lets blame who really deserves the blame, Hurricane Katrina...
