This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth...." Joshua 1:8.................Your tongue is one of the greatest gifts God has placed at your command,so use it wisely! The Bible says death and Life are in the Power of the Tongue',and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof Proverbs 18:21.........STRONG WORDS so often we speak,we fail to consider the effect our words have...Have you ever used the words "I can't" or "This will never change???Your words not only affect YOU but also thoses around you.....Out of the mouth comes both Praise and Cursing. My brothers this should not be,...James 3:10 NIV........What you say about your situation affect what you believe, and what you believe determines what you will recieve...Faith talk is what God responds to! It is easy to slip from speaking Faith into speaking Fear!..........................................................Make a decision today to Guard your words carefully..........And remember,Others may not speak words of Faith to you today.....The tongue is a small member but the words that come from the mouth can Kill....

Amen, this is something I do think of often but afraid I am still not always strong and fail. Just today I did/said something I now wish very much I hadn't done/said but there is no way to take it back now. Only pray for God to help me get out of the mess I got myself into.

Yes i know what you mean.I feel that God is in control of our life and that is how i feel also, and i feel in whatever i do it is meant to be,and that God has a plan in it for us..I have been trying to figure this out too...Why am i here on Mylot?? what is it that i am supposs to do?I am living in a place right now and i had no clue as to why,but i have found out since i have been here that my husband is very ill and he was not being taken care of where we were living...Since we have been here he has found out all about his health, and has even had lots of help here and he is now beganing to draw a check for his disability from the veterans, that they should have been giving him for a very long time...and now he is getting it....So now we are almost ready to go back home but we will go back in a lot better conditon than we came, both health wise and financially...and everything has worked out and now i can see...."Why"

Ok, got it back now - I don't get fed up it's just I get so annoyed, these people are so stupid can't they see the damage they could be doing... I know, it's in God's hands but my prayers are that God will put that and a few other discussions in the eyes of the right person and possibly it will have an affect on them. We are God's tools, He will use us as He feels fit but I know in my heart that God put me hear for a reason and I know it's not to make a few cents a day.

Yes I've been trying to do that too. I have had such negativity in the past. I am learning to speak in faith and God never fails.

Very well said, slickcut. I have posted a topic about out tongue being the deadliest weapon in my blog. Indeed, I know of a few people who readily said things that are poisonous. I tend to think before speaking out my thoughts. Being a sensitive bunny, I like to more careful with each words that I said. But the fact remains, that we tend to slip out words that may unintentionally hurt somebody. Thanks for sharing this one.

Hello charm 88,your post reminded me of something and i will share this with you,I don't know why it reminded me but here goes.........Remember when we were children and we had our little spats with our classmates? We use to chant this"Sticks abd Stones may break our bones but words will never hurt us"...We did this as a defense but this was not true.Words do hurt, and cut like a knife, I have heard sweet words that felt like heaven, and i have felt hurtful words,so I know that little chant was untrue.i don't know how old you are but i am probably older than you so if you have not heard this before, thats why..thank you for your response...

Amen! I'm trying to get on a better schedule of reading His "daily bread", or from the loaf, I guess, the New Testament, everyday.. as I know this keeps us real close to Him. P.S..that's just what I was thinking of.. how the tiny tongue can start a great fire..

Indeed ,words can move the mountains and dry the oceans. They are powerful. It's words that can make us feel loved and hated. It's words that inspire or deflate us and knowing to use the right words can be a huge blessing because they aren't just words .Those expressions are thoughts and characterize us. I try to be careful what words I use whenever I start talking (or even typing ,lol). If there is a difference of opinion ,then I do express myself ,but try hard not to end up hurting the person I converse with because that's not my intention and I know how bad I might feel when harsh words are dished out to me.If not for the diplomats who are word merchants ,we probably would have had many more wars than our history teaches us.Words could be more devastating than weapons and more beautiful than the rainbow.

..I try to remind my family members once in awhile, that there's creative power in what we say.. also in what we think, because we have to think it before we speak it.. I hate it when I hear 'negative speak'.. Just think, my mother used to say things like "bad things happen in threes.." and other things like that quite regularly.. and she always has had a lot of trouble..

Sometimes we ask and God does not always give it to us,later we find that if he had given it to us it would not have been for the best. All we can do is ask, believing and hold on it it and have faith...The Bible tells us to keep knocking...if the door does not open just keep knocking, the door will finally open...

I agree with you. Our tongue though is a small organ has got great power. It is capable of blessing as well as cursing one another. A person who is excellent in controlling his/her tongue, the same knows exactly where he/she direct his/her life.
