Kanye West stated on national television that "George Bush does not care about black people." I think in some ways that is true based on what happened with the hurricane Katrina victims. It took too long to help those people to get their homes sorted out and their housing situated and even though I know that there are a plenty of pros and cons with this particular issue, do you honestly believe that it was fair that all those people had to die in order for them to finally decide to clean up and try to get the people to come back home. They say that it wasn't as bad as the people say it was. Well then I would like to know why there are so many of them that refuse to go back to Louisiana. I have family in Lake Charles and they said that to this day some people are still trying to find their relatives and trying to get housing. Do we care about each other at all? What if something like that happened in your state? Do you think that you would be back in your home within a reasonable time?

Honestly you can't believe that it is jsut about attention I mean the guy makes millions off of his record sales so attention is not it. Honestly I do believe that bush probably doesn't really care about black people or white people either. Over the years that he has been president he has done alot of things that seem to appear to black people that he really doesn't care about them.

I don't feel this is a black or white issue, it's just another screw up. George Bush does not care about black people, or white people. It the same as everything else, if you don't have money you do not get noticed until it is too late. What happened to those people was horrible and a lot of it could have been prevented. If this had happened somewhere else it might have had a different result.

It may be that he doesn't care about anybody, but himself because ever since he has been in office there has been one disaster after another. I believe that we should be more careful as to who we vote to be president.

I think what happened in Louisiana was terrible and many people are to blame. That being said, I am not a big George Bush fan and will be glad for 2008 to roll around. However, I do not think Lousiana was a black issue. The country was unprepared. It happens that many blacks live there, but had it been another state, we still would have been unprepared. The problem here is that the country spends too much time worrying about OTHER countries when we have so many problems to contend to here. Just my opinion, great topic !
