Sending our daughter to her room works great as a punishment. she hates to be speperated from us even for a few minutes. While in her room she can only read no games, movies or toys. after about 15 minutes or so her whole attitude has changed.

Man, I used to hate it when I was younger... until I got to high school, when I had a computer with internet access and a television with cable and a video games system in my room. Then it was like, "what are you gonna do, send me to my room?" The only thing that hurt about it wasa not being able to go out with my friends...
I still believe it's a good punishment, but you have to go all the way with it. No television, no computer, no way to do anything except maybe reading a book or sleeping; just because it's still necessary to display consequences for actions that are deemed bad.

Well although at the time of the punishment I didnt think it was fair but now Im older and have kids of my own I think its nescessary to give children punishments if they desevre it. I think punishment shows us right from wrong and helps us to develop into functioning human beings that can get along in society.
