how do you get you x to give you back your belongings?

my moms x boy friend has all her belongigs including her car title because its under his name and he is being an a**hole. If any body has any advice on this it would help.

If it's her car why is it under his name? I hope you don't mind me asking.
I don't ask my ex's to return my stuff. I even get upset when they return what I've given them. But if it's something I really need I just ask them to give it back or get it back first before I break up with them.

well my mom was living with him and so all her clothse and every thing is there and to be an A hole hes not giving it back. The car was a present to my mom from her mom and she got it put under his name because of some problems with her insurance pluse they were engaged so she trusted him and now well like i said hes being an a hole and she is trying to get her stuff back and be done with him but he is not making it easy.

Most likely there is little she can do.
If you go to court, he will win anyway.
The worst thing you can do is put everything you own in someone else's name. No matter how much you trust the person.
It there name is on it....legally, they own it.
