Sanjaya butchers a Bonnie Raitt song

on American Idol. I only tuned in because Martina McBride is on this week. Before he sang he said he hoped he did Bonnie Raitt justice. EGADS! This guy is horrible. He was off key and out of sync with the music. I absolutely adore Bonnie Raitt and have never heard her music sung so badly. PLEASE people do not vote for him!!! He is and never will be an American Idol!

Sanjaya butchers every song, although last week was his element as far as Latin Music. The judges should never have given him this chance in the first place. His sister was better. American Idol this year seems to have become a popularity contest rather than a true "Talent" contest. If he even makes it into the top 4 ... we can kiss American Idol goodbye because it won't last.

If it does come back, let's hope the judges do a better job of getting the top twelve together for the contest.

I know! I love that song and I was so disappointed the moment I heard he was going to sing it. I knew he would just kill the whole song. He delivered on that once again haha.

I had to get a Bonnie Raitt cd out and put it on while I was in myLot. I had to get his version out of my head! LOL

i have not watch American Idol for a while since i have been very busy. I'm surprise to hear to he is still in contention. i don't think he would win the american idol. worse thing that could probably happen is he be included in the top 3. i hope i'm wrong.

I watched IDOL last nite and I agree he sang that song horribly. I voted for Blake #7 I like his style. I think Sanjaya is still there because all the teenie boppers vote for him!

Unfortunately, you are right about the teenie boppers. I can't wait to see and hear Martina McBride sing tonight. She has one of the best voices in country music.

I am so in agreement with you on this one. I was not a fan of his before this, but tonight's song really made me wince. The tempo was too slow, and the vocal was just horrible. His runs..all over the place, his high notes - hurt. Please oh please make him go away.

I actually voted for smeone tonight. It was the first time I have watched the show this year. I voted for Jordin...3 times!!! I thought she did a great job on a very vocally challenging song. She did Martina proud!
