He insists on watching Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Odd Parents, Avator, Ben 10, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. All these cartoon seem to be to old for him, he is 4. But anytime I try to get him to watch stuff like little einstiens or the mickey mouse clubhouse he tells me they are for babies and he is a big boy now. Is there any harm in letting him watch these cartoons??? I mean they are on an all kids channel.

My daughter who is 5 watches Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Odd Parents, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. She's been watching these for quite some time. As far as Avator, I don't personally like the cartoon so she knows she's not allowed to watch it. Its more for an older group if you ask me but even when she gets older she still won't be allowed to watch it!! I've never seen Ben 10 so I'm not sure what that one is about. Even though they may be on the kids channel doesn't mean that they are meant for kids of all ages. Sometimes I have to put my foot down here. My daughter now knows what she can and can't watch and if she tries to watch something she's not allowed the TV goes off and shes gets no more TV for the night.

My daughter is only 10 months & only watches TV in between running around the house like a nut & playing with her toys but usually she watches Sesame Street - she loves Bert & Ernie, plus Elmo of course. As for cartoons, she watches Fairly Odd Parents when it's on, Emporer's (spelling) new school, Lilo & Stitch, Arthur & she loves the intro to the Simpson's! I guess it all depends on ages & how much they understand really. I am happy for my daughter to watch most things coz she doesn't really understand it all but you should be ok allowing your 4 year old the cartoons on the kids channel - they're there for the kids, right?

My son just turned 5 and he's the same way. At 4, he's not really a toddler anymore...more of a preschooler so he will start thinking he's too "big" for Little Einsteins and stuff. LOL My son loves Ben 10 and Power Rangers. I don't think there's any harm. I don't let him ONLY watch those things and he knows they are only cartoons. They aren't really violent or anything...I mean, they will fight, but I sit with him and we talk about hos he if fighting for the good...the bad guys are evil and he is good.

My four year old loves the Einsteins, but besides that he loves all the PBS shows. Curious George is his favorite, and they also have an out of space one for older kids. I only let him watch certain shows on the Disney channel, and Cartoon network is completely banned in our house. They do have a few nice shows, but I just hate that my son can be sitting and all of a sudden, one of those crazy cartoons are on.
