How necessary it is for us to VOTE?

I am not against with practicing our rights to vote. In fact I would strongly advice each and everyone to exercise their votes. I for one when I turned 18 I already registered as a voter in our country. Then every election i exercise my rights to vote. What is just frustrating for me is that the politicians are the ones playing around with our votes.. there are the existence of flying voters and the existence of buying the votes of the people, then worse cheating during elections...
Now please tell me, how necessary it is to VOTE? do you actually exercise your rights to vote? or you do not care at all? or you just vote because you were told to do so? do you know the people or politicians you vote for? or you just became familiar with them from their campaign ads and flyers? please be specific.. thank you in advance.. and please be an active and sensitive citizen in your country...

I am a Christian and the only times I did not vote was because none of the candidates were pro-life or had the morals to stand up for what they believed. I made sure to read every flyer and read between the lines as what they really meant, and if I had doubts, I would chose a different candidate. In the States, people vote for the man, but in Canada you vote for the party and if the party says, for instance, we will have to smear ourselves with chocolate sauce on Valentine's day (I must made that up), any party member who does not, will be kicked out of the party. And often times the party leader tells his cabinet how to vote. So in some cases, we cannot vote if the leader was immoral

Well i didn't vote for the last time. it's not because i didn't want to, but it's because i didn't get a voting card, although i have registered before. i don't know may be this is part of a game or just human error.
Well just choose the best from your point of view. if one day they turn your back from you, don't select them on the next election. and tell others what they did to you.
Think the positive side, don't think about the negative. because you really don't want to know that thing.

Not only should we vote but I believe that we must vote if things are to even start to get better. Brave men many years back sacrificed their lives just so we could have the freedom to vote and have the type of representation the people deserve. It is important, now more than ever, when we can look at Washington and say that we are not getting the representation we deserve and we need to tell them so. There was a time when voting meant choosing a candidate who was going to do his/her best to represent the views of those voting for them. This included voting for someone who did not hold the same viewpoint but would still represent the voice of the people.
For example, we have people in the political realm that believe in the pro-life position. However they have expressly said that they will represent what the people say because that is what his office would mean. Then critics turn around and give the person flak for such a comment and say the person should stand up for their view. It is the politician, in this situation, who has the right idea of what his position means.
I say go out there and vote and tell Congress, The President, and everyone else that represents us exactly what we expect from them, no matter what they believe. It is their job to represent us, not for us to pick someone based on what they believe. We are supposed to pick the person who can best represent what we want even if they believe differently. That is how is used to be and things were so much better when it was done the way the people dictated. Now we have to do things the way the politicians dictate and ever since this has been the case things have gone downhill and hardly anything gets done.
Get out there and vote. Tell the minority, the politicians who seek to represent us, what the majority, the people that need representing, what you want. And when they don't follow through with what they were supposed to do, let them know you weren't happy with it and get them out of office and replace them with someone who can do a better job.
We the people should be the ones dictating what happens with our country and we need to take back that position.
