I have been using a free FTP client called CoreFTP which is a quite decent software considering it is free to use and does its job clutter free and efficiently. I had no issues with it so far. I used to transfer lots of files between friends and found it useful. I would suggest you this if you are interested.

As a webdeveloper, FTP Program is important to me.
Yes you can use IE's FTP but it's quite slow cuz it's transferred via HTTP. FileZilla is great and also FREE. If you want to save some bucks go for Filezilla. LeechFTP is also FREE and similar performance as Filezilla. But the most great FTP that I ever tried and even used it for the longest time is CUTE FTP Pro of Globescape. The best? Cute FTP!

I'm a big fan of CuteFTP. It's free, and it's a fairly simple program for basic FTP transfers. It's also got enough meat to do some more complex work if need be.
I've also used FireFTP (an add-in for firefox). It works just about as well as CuteFTP has for me, so I'm happy with it.
Those are the ones I'd recommend. They're free.. and both pretty easy to figure out.
