DOGS - Pets or Meat Food?

I am against taking animals as food. In ancient time, human might need to hunt animals for food in order to survive. But nowadays, human kill animal for fun or as luxurious food. I think it's even worse to kill dog.

I think of dogs as pets, not food. I would never be able to eat a dog. I know there's people in the world who eat them but I don't why they want to.

I think it's kinda gross. The meat of predator animals doesn't taste as good as meat from animals that are Herbivores.

I love dogs and I treat them as pets. For me it’s a cruel and inhuman behavior to kill dogs as meat food. I learnt from the soap opera that people who fond of dog meat usually don’t say they take dog meat but in another word in Cantonese ‘sumlookcow’ lol. Have you heard before?

I understand that it is a part of some peoples culture. I myself find this quite disgusting. You look at your pet pooch and think someone out there would like to eat you. I don't see how anyone can eat a dog. They were not put on this planet to be eaten. It's the same with horses. I would rather starve than eat either a dog or a horse. I would become a vegetarian rather quickly.

i consider dog as man's best friend and i don't think you could eat your best friend, right? and besides, it's against our constitution. when i see dogs being battered, i could feel my heart melt maybe it's because i love animals and i can't afford to see them that way.

I would not think of them as food. But really its only what you are acustomed too. If you did or did not eat them, you would not know any different. People that eat dogs, might be mortified by you eating beef or something else that you find common.

Here in the Philippines, particularly in the northern part where majority of the people are Ilocanos, dog meat is treated as a major meat ingredient for special delicacies. Dog meat is part of their culture and I believe it will be forever. I don't see anything wrong with eating dogs [though it really makes me so sick because we have a pet dog that we love so dearly] especially in the case of the Ilocanos wherein their culture dictates that dog meat can indeed be consumed as food. God also allows us to eat dogs because any 4-legged animal can be killed to be food for humans. The only thing that makes it a little unacceptable to many is the fact that dogs have been greatly domesticated and loved by many people who sometimes, even treat them as a human being.
