Willpower online

I find that I don't have any willpower when it comes to being online. I find myself constantly drawn back to a particular website, and their forum. I went to the trouble of putting in some pictures which would get me a banning for a few days, and as soon as that ban was over, I found myself back there again. Even when I was banned, I still found myself drawn back in to read the forum threads, even though I could not comment on them in any way, shape or form. When my initial 6 day ban was over, I found myself waiting anxiously for the 30 seconds to be over (the amount of time you need to wait before posting a new post), and so I posted some more pictures which resulted in me being banned from that particular forum for an additional 31 days. Even now, I find myself going in to have a look, shocked at some of the threads which have been started, such as a budgie dying, and it being a lesson to the son, even though it was the parent's fault for the budgie dying. Do other people have a similar problem? I have work which needs to be done, but find myself constantly drawn back to the internet. Perhaps I should find out about a filter of some description, to limit the amount of time I can spend online.

Gee BEL I wonder what forum you could be talking about!lol But I know exactly what you mean and wish I could stay away, even if I don't put anything in I still have to go and have a peek! So annoying even if you are banned you can still have a look! I think if you are banned your access should be banned too, now that would help! lol

I agree - I should not be able to look at the forum if I cannot post in it. I also think that people who are not members should not be able to look. As well as that, people who do not have enough exp to post in the forum should not be allowed to look either.

Hello, we miss you in the weirdo's club. You are an addict, you will need to go cold turkey if you want to stop . we don't want you to stop though.

Mod Squad - Mod Squad is coming after naughty people, including me.
I had not been in for a while, as I noticed hot stuff was not in there. Cold turkey - no way I can do that. I still have seven days left to go, so will have to try to use willpower in the meantime. I was just lucky my account was not cancelled for putting pornagraphic pictures in.

Bel...I don't suppose the site was a particular Aussie one that helped a few of us find our way here was it? haha I must admit I have to have a peek at a couple of sites on line each day and always check my emails. God forbid I may miss something haha. Good luck.

Troll Spray - Troll Spray for use in forums - especially against Dimwit_one or Dimwit_One, depending on which personality it is using at the time.
Whatever makes you think that? rofl. Of course it was that one. I still find myself going in & reading the things that are happening, and wishing I had some spray to put in some of the threads.

I'm a Moderator on a popular site in the UK and we actually have poeple email us to be banned from the site when they need to do college work, housework, etc. The longest we gave someone a voluntary ban for was 6 months. They're back now and as busy as they ever were, but their tasks were completed in the outside world! If you have a router at home, you can block the site at your router - this will prevent you even READING the site.
