how can you tell a poser from a rocker? a brilliant from a wannabe?

this question confuses me, i know maybe the answer is i don't know the difference between the two, necause my friend has been "named" a poser by some mean girls that dhe really don't know at all. can you help me how i can tell if she's a poser or not? because for me she's not. and i want that "poser"tag be off on my friend's name.
