thjis is a long going debate. Is it necessary to have dress code in work place or college. As long your dress is decent, there is no necessary for restrictions. u can wear informals if u feel comfortable. If the temperature is too hot, is there any use in wearing blazers to off? cant we wear casuals? if there is an important meeting, then its ok....or else is it necessary to have a dress code??? pls give ur responses on this....

I would like to say no, but then there is always that one person that has to wear something inapropriate that ruins it for everyone.

This had been an issue in our company. We didnt have any dress codes so we come to work as we are. As you said, it's decent enough...But the problem is, some employees tend to go beyond limits. They come to work wearing slippers, short or sleeveless shirts just like what you wear when you are inside the house. We have a night shift duty, once a week and some people come in their PJs. They feel like they are in their bedroom. So, the dress code issue had been raised and discussed. They will impose one if people wouldn't discipline themselves.
