What is Jacob's Ladder?

"Jacob's Ladder" is a bilical concept, but for Hermetic philosophers it was also symbolic of man's transformation, and his connection to the universe.

You know, it is funy that you ask this. It is a term I had heard often and knew it had some Biblical connotation. Interestingly enough, last night I was reading about the history of Blarney CAstle, which is located in Blarney, Ireland. It was talking about the Blarney Stone, which is a stone people travel aorund the world to visit and kiss, as the believe it gives the gift of eloquence. The stone was originally called the Stone of Scone, and one of the Bruce's gave it to Blarney. It is believed it originally came from the Middle East, and is the original Jacob's Ladder. It was meant to give the gift, originally, of being able to get others to see things your way, and effect docility. Maybe we should return it rfom whence it came!
