Extending battery life of Ipod

I have no idea why the battery life of my ipod is so short. I have to charge it every few days. I have read up that watching videos use up much more battery, but the thing is that I hardly watch videos anyway. By the way, how do you change your battery if it seems to be low on power?

I'm not sure I can relate. I've been able to listen to my iPod for 9 hours a day and only be a quarter of the way through the battery.

Did you follow the charging directions when you first got the unit? Most devices with rechargeable batteries tell you to not use the device until you've fully charged the battery, from a few hours to overnight. If the iPod wasn't properly charged when you got it, it won't hold a full charge. It may also depend on how much you use it. If I use my nano for more than a couple hours a day, I have to charge it every couple of days.

What eats up your battery is the backlight and browsing through menus and playing games. What you should do is set the backlight to two seconds. Once you choose what song to listen to, just let the backlight go off, put on hold, and don't keep going through the menus. I hope this helps, -Ste3le.
