My daughter says that I treat5 her different from her brother. I guess I do, but not in a bad way. It's only to try to protect her more. She doesn't understand that sometimes females need to be looked after more. Does anyone else get this from their daughter?

I don't have a daughter, but I was the only girl with two older brothers. I know exactly where your daughter is coming from. I was always treated very differently than my older brothers. Partly because I was the baby, but mainly because I was a girl. I was more protected by my Mother. My brothers were given much more freedom and asked a lot less questions about their lives than me. it was like I was under a microscope and they were free to do and choose whatever they wanted. We are all adults now and even they admit I was hindered from doing all the things they were allowed to do. It is so odd that even today parents shield their daughters, but never pay much attention to their sons.
The guys are the ones who need to be under the microscope not the girls. The guys are the ones who stir up so much trouble and are also the ones that get the girls pregnant without a thought or a care. The world will never change when it comes to raising different genders.
I don't think females need to be looked after any more than males. Each person is an individual. I actually think females are smarter and make better decisions than males. The protection really needs to be toward the males, they can't do anything without a woman in their life.
