is it completely wrong for some one to drink alcohol drink

you know as we were growing up from chhildhood to adult we use to here things like .dont drink alcohol.it is bad.it is publish in the newspaper and shown also on television .but up till today people are still drinking alcoholic drink .in your own view is it good for one to drink alcoholic drink .if yes why? and if it is not good please tell me why too.
