Do you think they can make it past miami/cleveland/chicago?
Can they get past suns/spurs/mavericks and win the title?
The reason I asked is that in the regular season, they played really badly against miami, cleveland and chicago. They lost to miami (without wade). They lost a couple of times to chicago. They haven't been at their best against the spurs and I think they also lost at home to the mavericks.
So will they win the whole thing?

they've got a greater chance of making it out in the east. so far, they're the most consistent team in the east compared to chicago and cleveland, but i doubt if they can repeat an upset just like what they did against the lakers in 2004. either the mavericks, suns or the spurs are very strong teams and the pistons might have a hard time catching them especially now that they dont have ben wallace to guard the paint. defense might win championships but still, they need offense, something the west is really loaded with. i'd bravely say, they'll end up losing again to this year's finals. i love the detroit team, but they'll not going to make it this time

Great analysis. I kind of agree that the piston's defence this year has not been as suffocating as previous year's defence. And the offence has this tendency to be on and off. So it's really difficult to say for certain that they can win the championship (although the bench looks really good right now)
What about miami? Do you think this group is able to beat miami? DIdn't they lose to miami some while ago?

a possible detroit-miami series in the second round, and i think detroit will have their revenge over the heat this time. miami will be having a hard time because of wade's condition. hes not yet 100%, for sure he'll be having a hard time against the pistons defense. though the pistons have lost an amount of defense, the addition of chris webber has made them a versatile team offensively. he's above average passing skills for a big man could ease up the interior for him and rasheed wallace and could give billups, hamilton and prince more room. detroit is a jumpshooting team, they need a big man who could kick the ball outside. all the advantages are with detroit over miami, sad to say, i think theres no title repeat for the heat

The Pistons will make it to the Eastern Conference Finals, but will lose to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The San Antonio Spurs will ultimately win the championship.

I think the Pistons will win the NBA Championship in 2007. Chauncey B-B-Billups!
