I'm talking about dieting! How do you lose weight? Well for me weight had been an issue, but not a big one. So I decided to try alot of different things:
1. I tried just exercise alone w/o eating the right kind of foods.
2. Then I tried eating one meal a day and then I realized that I was actually gaining more weight because of the portion sizes.
3. So that's when I decided to try the old fashioned way cuttin' down on my portions, trying healthier meals, and exercise as well.
Altogether I lost 25 pounds. I used to weigh 180, but now I weigh 155. That's what worked for me. How do you diet and exercise or maintain your weight?

I don't have a diet routine but I should have. I have tried most of the diet pills on the market. They work fine for awhile. I tried to stick with the natural ones. I don't eat much during the day, bowl of special k and a bagel for lunch. I do not snack during the day. At dinner I have a normal size meal. I do a lot of walking with our 2 huskies. It's strange that most things that work on other people just don't work for me. I even tried the peel-a-pound soup. I gained weight when everyone else lost 7 pounds.

For one thing, if you're trying to lose weight and you starve yourself, you metabolism will slow down because your body works to preserve the fat to use for fuel and goes into starvation mode. So you'd be defeating the purpose of losing fat by starving yourself.
The best way is to eat smaller meals throughout the day and make them whole healthy foods that keep you satisfied and give you everything you need. Eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water, cut down on sugar and highly processed breads and foods that contain preservatives. And watch out for meats that contain hormones and steroids.
Sometimes medications can cause you to keep weight on also, so if you're on prescription meds and antibiotics or steroid type meds you might gain weight because of them.
As for excercise, I think a good brisk walk is best at last once a day, and you need to swing your arms and take long strides and get your heart rate up, then slowly cool down afterward.
Get up early and eat a good wholesome breakfast with fruit, oats and juice. Avoid yeast whenever possible because yeast makes the bread rise and can also make your fat cells fatter. It can also cause pain and inflammation in your joints so you don't feel like walking.
Instead of leavened bread, try eating pretzels and melba toast.
Keep plenty of carrot sticks, celery and peanut butter and other whole food snacks like apples and peaches, and berries to lower your cholesterol around to grab while you're on your computer and don't just sit on the pc and do nothing all day.
That's about it.

i must say i dont really have a weight problem, i have always been fairly slim, however i have watch my mother over the years and several others lose weight by dieting and within a few months after they stop dietign the weight is back on, i do have an advantage because my brother own his on body building business and has many different pills to help speed up the metabilism to lose weight, this helped my mother dramatically! it was almost like magic, however i think the best and healthy way to lose weight would have to be maintaining a healthy diet and plenty of exercise, this will definely lose the wieght if you are patient and stick to you diet and exercise program, all the best

i am also struggling this part of my life. I've tried diet pills when i was in 3rd year highschool and it worked i lost almost 50lbs but due to the possible side effects i stopped and so i gained weight again. I've reached 220lbs but then i started using Xenical i lost 20 lbs. I'm going to try "Herbalife" its a chocolate drink in replace of the regular meals i eat. I hope that would work too. Then after two weeks i will write here again about it. :)

As of now I don't have a any routine diet maybe I've just been tried to start with then I'll stop. Before I do take some diet pills and it's effective for me I enjoyed looking at mirror but somehow I realize someday it may cause some side effects, then I tried Herbalife too It's fine with me also but after consuming the pack I stop again because of money It's to expensive for me and I can't afford that kind of diet. Now I feel I'm gaining again so I will just think again try again some other kind of diet.
