Yeah, I do. I volunteer at a local charity society in partnership with internet friends. We don't even know each other except for our nicknames. We have got two leaders, one of them running a cafe and the other working for the government. Talk to you next time.

I volunteer at the Humane Society and it has been a wonderful experience. I get to socialize the animals and help them to feel safe in that environment. I get to show the animals to people who are looking to adopt and help them find the right one for their family. I also fostered a kitten that had come in. He was only about 5 weeks old and had somehow gotten separated from his mother. He couldn't eat solid food yet and had to be nursed from a medicine syringe, couldn't keep himself warm and couldn't even go to the bathroom on his own. I took him home, nursed him, kept him warm and litter trained him. I had him for about a month. It was an incredible experience and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

That is really awesome! I hope that someday I'll live with people who aren't allergic to cats, and then maybe I'll foster a kitten or two during kitten season to help out.
As it is, the only orphaned animals I've fostered, were two baby guinea pigs that were probably less than a week old (they still had umbilical cords). Both have since grown up and one was adopted, the other in another foster home now.

At the moment I volunteer as the Treasurer of the local Weight Watchers Club. It is difficult at this stage, because the finances were all mucked up before I took the job.
I also volunteer to help with my daughters swimming club. I had to be a marshall at a Triathalon, and stand around holding flags & directing the participants.

Not as much as I used to.
When I was first out of school I always helping my local community, especially the elderly who needed help fetching groceries. (one scheme I'm happily willing to help with)
Although now my time very limited with work and looking after my son and such but I still help out with certain charity sites online.
Kudos,
~Joey

I volunteer at a couple organizations.
I volunteer weekly with marine mammals at a rescue center where sea lions, elephant seals, etc. are rehabilitated and released into the wild.
I also volunteer as a foster parent for a guinea pig rescue (and sometimes a shelter scout, event volunteer, photographer, and anything else they need me for).
I used to do a lot of rabbit rescue work, but now I will still do a transport if/when needed, but don't have enough time to do it regularly.
And I volunteered for a couple years at a summer school helping children with science courses.

I have done volunteer work for several different groups including our local Headstart and senior citizens centers. I have worked with animal rescue, but mostly with people. I have done fundraising for various groups including Coats for Kids, Toys for Tots, and Hospice of Michigan.

I am a volunteer for a Christian radio station which will be airing soon in our place. It's fun because we're taught many things such as radio production, scriptwriting, and even marketing.
Before, I really want to volunteer for an organization which takes care of kids with cancer. I've attended the orientation and all but whenever I coordinate with the participating hospitals, I can't reach the contact persons. Right now I don't have time to pursue it anymore. Maybe in the future..
It's fun volunteering. Aside from doing things which you love, you do it to help. You also get to meet new people which eventually will become your most trusted people and friends.

I volunteer as a Gawad Kalinga Advocate, it an organization that started in the Philippines spearheaded by Couples for Christ. We usually build houses for the less privileged people. Aside from that we enable them to be self sufficient and help themselves step away from poverty. We also have tutorial sessions and cathechism sessions with the kids to empower them with knowledge and nourish their spiritual needs.

Pincgeneral. That is a great thing to be associated with! We have the same thing up here in Canada. It is called Habitat For Humanity and many people would not have homes to live in if so many people did not give so freely of their time and talents. Thanks for sharing!

My volunteering was a little different I suppose. Not as constant as the examples here, but anyway here goes. I spent a year doing voluntary charity work in an African country, teaching English to children in a country where English is supposedly the official language. I was teaching little 'uns between 2 and 7 years of age, and high school students between 14 and 17 years of ago (while I was 18/19 myself). I have resently done a sponsored eent for Link Community Development raising 300 pounds for educational resources for children in various african nations. Experience: unforgetable is about accurate.

Although I am disabled(chronic pain) I volunteer at a local NO KILL animal shelter. "Happily Ever After Animal Sanctuary" I have been there almost from day 1. I could do anything I want but I only clean/feed/love the cats once a week. My body cannot handle anymore. I have taken care of the dogs acouple times and have walked them, but that is harder on me.I wish I could physically handle more.
Soon I am going to have to cut back and jsut feed and love them. I wish I was in better shape and younger. My number one passion in life is:animals.
