Do you like microwave ovens?

I won't have a microwave oven in the house because I feel they are dangerous. How do you know your microwave is not leaking radiation into your house? Also, I've heard that when you nuke (a word that makes me uncomfortable) your food, you kill all the vitamins. How do you feel about microwave ovens?

Hello RosePetal I am like you, I have given up micro cooking several years ago after yet another miscarriage. the oven may or may not have contributed but I had for a few years before that considered how the nutrition is destroyed by radiation and that was just the final incentive that I needed.

I'm glad to hear there are some people who think like I do about microwave ovens, although there doesn't seem to be too many. My boyfriend wants me to get one to save time, but I won't give in to having one in the house. I hope more people respond to this thread and state that they don't like using a microwave either.

I couldn't eat well enough without a microwave and for under $3 a serving including vegetables, meat. Of course some sophisticated food like duck could cost a little more. Healthy speaking there is no danger in microwave. More vitamins are lost when cooking in water than in microwaves that pretty much uses steam to warm the food. The process is very fast 2-3 minutes and well-designed so even the flavor is left untouched, I could never do it myself such dishes. There is a leakage in very small amounts thou, the best someone can do is keep some distance while is operating.
