This post may contain subject matter some may find offensive. If you choose to read on, don't complain if you are offended. I have teens that listen to rap. Booming from their rooms I hear: Hey all you b*tches ( you know the word) and hoes pimps and other unmentionable words. So, what's wrong with A white man saying nappy head what evers?Everyone race and color are made fun of by comics all the time. What do you think?

I know what you mean. I'm not saying that what Don Imus said was to be taken lightly but it seems like you can say those nasty words as long as they are not directed at somebody in particular. The media would gladly make a story to make the incident more sensational. Then, Al Sharpton will organize a protest rally. So things get out of proportion.

Al Sharpton?!!!! Do not even get me started on him! When I see him in a situation I can only say one thing "Twanna Brawley" nuf said. But you are right the media does play a big role in puffing up the problem

i still do not think that nasty words can be used that wantonly. it will have such effect on the language of the youth that patronize their kind of music.

i am not at all familiar with this issue. but if, the words of their music are running that bad, i don't think that their music will be worth listening to.

While it is true that Imus scarred himself for the rest of his life and legacy, the Rutgers girls will experience the opposite. They will be viewed as innocent of all charges (rightfully so) and be associated with this incident in a positive way the rest of their life. All right thinking people will see them as successful people and this situation will likely improve their opportunities in life. They appear to be smart enough and strong enough to deal with this and move beyond any enduring hurt. Now that Imus has apologized both publicly and privately there isn't much left to create a lasting scar other than on Imus himself.

I agree. All he had to do was said he was deeply sorry and it should ahve been all that was needed. But one Al Sharpton got involed it got out of hand.
