What is the most expensive item you own?

This doesn not include your home or vehicle or anything like that. This is a personal item - clothing, jewelry, etc. Also it is not what you actually paid for it, but what it would retail for. My single most expensive possession would have to be a watch. For my 40th birthday/Christmas present my hubby bought me a Movado watch. I know he did not pay full retail for it, not even close! But according to both him and some independent internet research, the "street price" of this particular style is nearly $1,200! I guess he really loves me, even after I "misplaced" this watch for nearly 4 months. I usually put it back in it's box, but one time I put it somewhere else "safe" and promptly forgot where that was. I thought it had fallen into my bathroom trashcan and had ended up in the local landfill - fortunately I was quite wrong. Hubby found it for me, and we were both greatly relieved it turned up.

I was going to be a smart alec and claim my son is my most expensive item....mostly due to medical expenses. I reckon our most costly single item in the house would be our bed. but there are other things that I would consider much more valuable to me. I understand how devastated you must have felt after misplacing your watch. I lost my beautiful wedding band while gardening....and my husband gave me his to wear till I found mine so I would not feel naked... I was talking with my hands and his flew off my finger and for 3 years we could not find it. due to a military move we had to sell our home. I left a message to the new owners about both rings in hopes that they would find them and send them to me. but no such luck. we now have very ugly cheap bands to replace them :( figures, I never lost one of them.

The most expensive item that we own is our MacBook, it cost us 1300 euros (about 1700 dollars) - and that was us getting it a bit cheaper too! Computers and the such (digital cameras too) are very expensive in Europe.

WOW that is expensive even for a Mac. I love Mac's! I was in a local mall where they have an Apple store. The MacBooks weren't all that expensive, but I guess some of the more powerful ones were about $1900 US.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it would be a lot cheaper in the US. It is the higher end one, but everything like this is way overpriced in Europe. We've come to live with it (don't have a choice), but it still kind of smarts when you notice the much lower prices in the US. Same goes for CDs, games and DVDs, they're much cheaper in the US.

My gorgeous fur coat, I love it - Blackgamma Mink Coat
It would have to be my Blackgamma mink I bought last year, I love it and just sent it to the Furrier today to get it cleaned and place it in cold storage until next winter. The value of it $10,000.00 and I love it so much. It is gorgeous, I attached a picture of it for you to view.

Wow, that is nice. Just another thing I am not sure I would pay that much money for, though. Nothing against fur or anything, it's just not something I would want that much. But it is beautiful!

Wow. That sounds like a watch that i would want to see. My most expansive item is my laptop, i do not remember how much it did cost me, because i bought it years ago, but i can tell you that is still worth a lot of money. Your post made me think of how i wish i could take it right now and write on it, but i loaned it to one of my friends, so that wish could not be fulfilled right now. After that laptop, i have my sun glasses, that did cost me about 300$ at the time, i did have a crazy crave for this beautiful sun glasses, so without thinking, i just went and bought it, and yes i am still paying for it. Lol

The way I lose or destroy sunglasses, I pay as little as possible for them. I can't even imagine paying that much for 1 pair - they must be very special!

It's a toss up -- I own a few expensive watches such as a Rolex and Audemars Piguet but I also own an origanal Picasso drawing...not sure which is worth more...

I would think the Picasso would be worth much more - do they even put prices on that kind of thing? You have got me beat in the watch department! But I still like my Movado better hehehe!

Sketches are not worth as much as his paintings, and My Audemars cost a bundle... I love my Movados too, I have 3 and an ESQ (made by Movado) that I wear every day.

The most expensive item I own is a Dooney & Bourke handbag. It's a medium hobo sized Doodle bag and it would retail for about $230 (which is about how much I spent for it). I probably shouldn't have bought suxh an expensive bag, but I really liked it. Besides, good handbags last a long time, and I'd rather spend a lot of money on a nice bag, then go through several in a year because they were of lower quality. (I do wish it was a little bit bigger, though!)

A friend of mine loves those purses. As hard as I am on purses I couldn't spend that much on one. But if I did, I would go for a Coach bag. But I guess when I buy the cheapies I get what I pay for - they seem to only last a year or two, but then I only carry one purse at a time. I don't change purses with my outfits. So daily wear may explain the early demise.

The most expensive thing I'd own is my computer. I pad around $600 for it, inlcuding the printer and desk. Not sure what it would retail for otherwise. The only other thing that might be worth more is if you put it all together and that would be my DVD collection. If you estimate them at $10 each (some are more and some less) it would probably cost a good $3000 to replace. Yes we have at least 300 DVD's and there are still times we can't find anything to watch.

My husband bought for me a pocket organizer from sony which at that time cost 450 euro (1st edition) Unfortunately, that thing didn't really works properly as it promised....learned me not to buy any first edition on electronic stuff. And my husband is typical all sales are final and he didn't really want to bring anything back to the store - even if it was not our mistake that the thing didn't work properly. Oh well, it was his gift and I respect that. so most of the time, it's just stay on top of book shelf as one of decoration.

Well, if I were to count electronics I would say my laptop, because that cost me over $1,000. However, if we aren't counting electronic items I would count my diamond earrings. My mom gave them to me for Christmas last year -- a pair for me and a pair for my sister, from diamonds that came out of my grandmother's wedding ring (she passed away early last summer). Not only do they have about a $500 value, they also have a lot of sentimental value for me, so I would be very upset if they were lost...

I would say that the laptop I'm using now is the most expensive item I own. It was over $3000. That's more than I paid for my car which I got used for $1800. LOL. Probably the second most expensive item I own is a digital camera that was about $350. After that would be one of the crystals in my collection which cost me about $180.

my most expensive item would be my laptop. I don't really like jewelry so I don't spend money on them. I don't care for expensive clothes and shoes as well. I think I spend more on electronics and and technical stuff. Aside from my laptop, my TV is also a little bit expensive. Next to that would be my camera. So glad you found your watch. Hubby gave a bracelet for our first anniversary and not even a year it was snatched from my hand. That was devastating for me, not only the experience but also the thought that I can never get back that part of the memory of our first anniversary.

I used to own a set of white and yellow gold jewelry. It was a beautiful gift my Mom gave me on my college graduation, that cost her around $1000. Imagine my tears when a bunch of snatchers snatched my necklace away. So I gave the other pieces (earrings, ring and bracelet) to my Mom for safekeeping. I felt ashamed that I wasn't able to guard her gift to me.... Now my most expensive (though not really expensive, hey! I'm not wealthy! :D) personal item would be my cellphone. Bought it with my salary so I'm really taking good care of it :D
