Wow gross, I have been lucky enough to have never had a cockroach in my house so far. But if I saw more than one, I would call a person like terminex or someone like that so they can come out and spray with strong stuff. As far as your cabinets, make sure you really seal up any food use ziploc baggies, that's probably what is attracting them so I'd be extra careful, maybe if they don't find any food they'll leave.

You can buy a certain powder specially made to ward off cockroaches at your local home improvement store and you put it all around the outside of the house and that will prevent cockroaches from coming in. Now for those already inside of the house you can buy traps and put them in different spots around the house and replace them every week or so. I would also recommend buying some bug killing spray and spraying them if you see one running around.
They are nasty pests but you can control them from getting too bad.

Well fortunately I have never had to deal with cockroaches and if I ever did have them in my home. I know I would leave my home as soon as I seen them and wouldn't go back until I knew they were going. I am just grossed out by them and don't know why since I have never dealt with them..lol I have heard though, that the only true way to get rid of cockroaches is to pay for an exterminator to come in and take care of them. I have also heard that once you get cockroaches they multiply greatly and very fast. Good luck and I hope you get the problem under control soon.

Funny you do run away for the cockroach, if they are in your home.. you'll never know if they had gone fore sure, you'll never know where they would be hiding. Having the exterminator did helps once in a while. Its true, these roaches multiply very fast (i think in one cocoon ~ 8 eggs?) and they glue the cocoon anywhere..i'd had found one at my door frame
