raising kids to be respectful

now a days you can't do anything
without big brother having something
to say there are always eyes looking
out for something wrong
but here is my question
I don't have any children
so I would like to know what
are parents doing to stop kids
from becoming foul mouthed
disrespectful sexually active
little mobs
I was rised
by my mom and grandmother
and if I was out of line
I got hit (with anything from
a hand, to a belt) nothing to
crazy like some parents these
days putting smokes out on their
kids while locking them in
the closet without food
(that's when I don't mind
big brother sitting on them
after eating beans
and of course at the time
I wasn't happy about
and was angery for
it happening but now
I have repeatedly thanked
them for raising me the way
they did it has helped me
go so far in my life
and I have done so much
learned so much from so
many people because I have
the respect to listen and
patience to learn
but now it seems
we can't do anything like
that so I wonder
what ways is everyone
using to help in raising
our newest additions
I understand that not
all kids are the same
and that some thing will
work for some and not
others that's why I'm
hoping to get alot of
responses
thanks
