My showerhead gets the hard water deposits bad. I soaked it in a cup of white vinegar for an hour and used an old tootbrush to lightly scrub the deposits off. It's like a new showerhead. Same thing with my refrigerater spicket and water collector tray. I soak it with vinegar and the water deposits clean off within an hour or so. Just let it soak until they loosen. try it!

yep! and also when those scaley deposits clog up the kitchen sink sprayer - just twist off the cap and soak it in a dish of vinegar. I love vinegar! we have a lot of calcium in our water and the coffee maker looks awful real quick - I run few cups of vinegar through it and voila, no more build up. I just have to remember to run a cycle with clear water afterwards or my darling husband gets a sourpuss!

Heheh I run the water through afterwards as well. At least a couple of pots worth. It makes the coffee taste so much better after cleaning it though. It's worth the hot vinegar smell that gets in the house while it cleans.

Vinegar is great. It does a lot. It's great for cleaning windows, getting stains out, cleaning coffee pots which is mostly getting rid of deposits from the water. It's amazing what all it can really do around the house. I'll have to try it for the shower head. Hadn't done that before but makes sense.

Vinegar is excellent for cleaning windows. I used to buy Windex with Vinegar specifically for that purpose and then tried to mix water and vinegar on my own and it worked just as well.
I also found out that a couple tablespoons of vinegar in your laundry sets colors too and they last longer. We do this for my husband's black and red clothes. It's amazing how we've had other colored clothing fade so quickly and the black & red clothing are still nearly as bright as the day you bought them.

I love vinegar and baking soda. They do a host of things about the house. The list really is endless. The newest I learned was in making my own febreeze. I put vinegar in to help eat the odors while the downy (or other fabric softener) leaves the scent. It's great.

No, I didn't know that, but since I use white vinegar for damn near everything else, what the hey?
Thanks for the tip, Juls :)
