I've been having this problem a lot last college semester, probably because I disliked all the subjects that I had to take during that term. Most of my professors were old people who droned on and on about their topic in this monotone, seemingly not to care that half the students in their class were already half asleep! At the start of the term, I tried to be as diligent a student as possible. I tried to take notes to keep from being bored. But it didn't work out. Then I bought this headset for my mobile phone, and started to listen to music during class. I couldn't really chit chat with my seatmates, because they were mostly asleep or lost in their own daydreams. I daydreamed sometimes too. I finally got tired of it all, and started counting how many times I could be absent from class and not fail. I didn't fail, but I didn't get really high marks either.

I usually try to pay attention as much as possible. I always use a tape recorder, just in case I miss anything.

I like drawing so usually when I'm bored I draw something on the note, and the professor doesn't notice it because it looks like I'm writing. XD

well I designed a plan to disguise my boredom. Usually when I am bored, I draw doodles on my paper while turning an ear for any vital information. I may daydream abit but I must be sure that I have one ear focused on the professor. That way, if he/she suspects that I am not listening and tries to catch me off-guard with a question, I will still be able to answer it with ease.

I've always had the highest respect for my professors, so I try to give them the benefit of the doubt when I get bored. I still try to listen and give my attention to them, even when they are lecturing on something really boring. You have to kind of think how they feel lecturing to a bunch of kids on something that can be extremely boring to anyone, even them! Saying that however, I do think that when such boring topics are lectured on, some professors can make the lecture at least a little interesting by varying his/her voice. Unfortunately I have a teacher who doesn't feel the need to do such a thing, and I have to listen to him talk on Earth Science for four hours every week. I still listen though, despite how painful it is!
