I machine wash everything when I do the laundry. All except for the wifes bras. I get yelled at if I toss them in the washer. In the summer days I hang the clothes outside to dry. Nothing like fresh smelling clothes from the outdoors. Especially the sheets. I love going to bed on fresh sheets right after they've been air dried outdoors. Such a soothing smell to fall asleep to. Thanks for the discussion also.

I do most of my cloths in the machine. I do add something on any stains that are on the cloths to help them get cleaner. There are a few items that I hand wash. Not a lot but a few because I feel the machine will tair them up because of how delicate they are.

yup. there was this one time, i was sick. i had my clothes washed through a laundry shop. they used machines ofcourse. and when i got my clothes back, most are already defective. some, missing bottons, some edges torn, and worst, my favorite knitted blouse had lots of holes in it! and since then, i hate machines. i love my clothes. i save money before buying one. so, i'd rather do it handwash. safer and i am happier with the results.
good day!

nope. i wash clothes... handwash! hehe. i do the laundry at home. for my parents and my two younger brothers. and i do it all by myself. i don't want my mom anymore doing the laundry. heheh. atleast, i wanna do it for her now. and i am not tired at all. i am happy listening to the sound of the bubbles and splashes of the water. yeah, i know.. a bit crazy... that's just me! hehe..
i get bruises on my wrist and fingers. i hate using gloves... it's because i want to feel the soap and water on my hands. okey. that's crazier. hehe.
anyway, my boyfriend came over last year and we talked about my handwashing hobby. gosh... he said that i won't be doing it when i am already in sweden with him. since he can do the laundry using machines. and i said no... i will take care of my own clothes and handwash them. handwashing them will not make them look old quick. handwashing takes extra care of the clothes. and so, i want to do it for my clothes. and he laughs about it all the time.
happy myLotting cherrie!
by the way, cute baby!

I do wash everything by machine, but there are two shirts that I have that I wash my hand, and also whenever my daughter soils or pees her nice clothes, I like to wash that by hand!
My grandmother also, washes some clothes by hand, delicates mostly.

I agree with you, sometimes machine washes better sometimes hands do. This is especially true in that time of the month when I have my period, and also when it comes to my husband's work pants that sometimes get too oily. but still, if loaded only half, machines can do well with my hsuband's work pants. If I load it 90% full, it doesn't do a good job either.

Well, I"m usually quite satisfied with machine washed clothes and that's how I do my laundry most of the time.
Occasionally I will find something that I find did not come out too good and I will hand wash. But the majority of my hand washing is done when I'm really upset.
I found out that it relaxes me and takes my mind away from whatever is bothering me, so when I'm really really upset, that's where you will find me :)

In my country we do hand wash for gentle items, and sturdier clothes we machine wash. We have powerful washers, and if we do not overfill them, then we get really satisfactory results in our wash. It also depends on what detergents and additives we use as to how clean the clothes look. I like more natural detergents and then I use vinegar and baking soda in the wash. If I find a stain, I do go give it attention by hand.

Almost all of my clothes I wash them with machine I never use my hands for washing clothes cause it can really hurt my hands. Even with my underwear I soaked them and wash them a little with my hands.
I'm not that meticulous when it comes to my clothes as long as it smell good and has no stain in it.

We wash our clothes by hand. We can afford a washing machine, but we don't fancy lugging the thing up and down three flights of stairs if we buy one and when we move, it's just not worth all the trouble. Handwashing ensures that the clothes don't get too damaged as they would in the machine and so they last longer. We also save on water this way and don't have to buy expensive washing powder every couple of weeks.

I also do machine wash everytime i wash my clothes and i m not very satisfied with certain clothes. i dont see them perfectly clean so i have to wash them using my hands. sometimes before washing i soak the clothes in soap water for some time and then start my washing, then before rinsing also i check that if they need any more wash i repeat the cycle, and then rinse.

Before college I used to wash my clothes everyday so there isn't a need for a washing machine. but now, I prefer to use one because my laundry does pile up now and I have little time and energy to spare after work and school. For smaller items, like undergarments, I still wash them everyday, by hand because these usually have more sweat that other clothes. For clothes that have been soiled or stained badly, I soak it before dumping it in the washing machine.

The machine is only for big items like curtains and bedsheets. For clothes, I hand wash, and handwash all my own clothes. The reason is that it is a waste of water to use the machine.I wash my clothes daily instead of accumulating and wash once a week. Besides, by handwash, clothes have a "longer" lifespan. I am in control of my own washing :P

I handwash my clothes. I feel its cleans better than machine. No mattter the thickness of the cloth, or probably l use hand brush. l also feel machine wash weaken the material. l have more confidence in hand wash, cuz l can pay a particular attention at a dirt on my clothe, which l know l cant instruct a machine to do.

I usually do handwash when I do the laundry. I am not satisfied with the work of the washing washing. After all, it is just a machine and do not know exactly which is which. So I handwash to ensure that my clothes are really clean.

I have done both and I hate both, I hate laundy in general and at the moment I am actively avoiding it.
So my husband has been taking the kids to the laundry mat about once a week and the kids are doing the laundry with his help.
I wish stuff would just stay clean that would be nice, LOL

I machine wash all our clothes except those that are made of delicate fabric and should really be handwashed. We also have our white clothes hand washed because they needed to be soaked in soap for hours and sometimes bleached before they are washed.
