What is the strangest place you have ever slept in? The strangest place I have ever fell asleep in was in a dugout grave, in a foreign land. How about you?

Aw, I'm jealous. I rarely ever get to visit graveyards..and I adore them. They're always so..beautiful to me. Strangest place for me? On the grass, one dry, warm, summer night. It's technically our lawn..but we have forty something acres..so our lawn's kinda big lol. I love being outside. I never get to sleep out there enough, and rarely without a tent because of the bugs (who often love munching on my skin and blood). I wouldn't mind so much if all we had were spiders..I love spiders, but the things that bite..I could do without when I wanna sleep out in the lovely air, under the lovely full moon and sparkling stars. I suppose it's one of the things I love about the middle of nowhere. Not so many people with their lights..making it hard to see the night sky. Everything's so much more beautiful..wilder..out here. To me at least.

Beautifully quiet? Graveyards..yes. Our acreage..not exactly. Especially not in the spring or beginning of the fall..blessed with an abundance of wildlife. But not being used to the city..the city's LOUD compared to here's noisy and occasionally quiet. In the spring we have the frogs..spring peepers singing. In the fall we have the crows in the woods arguing over whose branch and whose food is whose.Plus our farm animals..so, it's not super quiet. Just on occasion..though less often with the city kids putting trailers out here, with their illegal drag racing and four wheelers in the field 'next door'..the camp 'down the way' with their rented cabins and wild parties in the summer. Fireworks and noisemakers by more 'neighbors' in July lol. It's miles away, but out here..sound really carries. I lived in the city originally, so when I came here I thought it was really quiet..but after being here..what now? *frowns and thinks* six years now..it's anything but. But I'm more sensitive to light and sound than my family and lots of people it seems..so that's probably just me lol. I hope you get to enjoy nature a bit more soon. It's always lovely to get some time to spend with it and just relax -- which even I don't get to often with how busy I am. Another thing about our day an age I guess..always busy, heh ^_^

Beautifully quiet perhaps? The lack of 'other worldly' always makes me feel more relaxed... 40-ish acres of 'lawn'? Damn, now I'm jealous lol! I love the outdoors (minus the things that want a piece of me) but loving in the city with little time on my hands makes it hard to enjoy nature :(

I've slept on a place that's like a shack, in an island while spending a vacation along with my friends. The place was good, lots of people and the beach was a beauty. The only problem was the electricity, as the island don't have connections from the mainland electricity lines. They only had a generator for a limited time of consumption, which I think was about 4-6 hours a day. They turn it off at around ten in the evening, when the whole community are going to sleep. Kind of freaky but thrilling at the same time, as it is quiet with the oceans' waves and insects' humming the only sound that we can hear at night.

Yes, I really missed it. The feeling of freedom, and to be one with nature is truly is a very wonderful feeling!;)

The closest experience I have to that is on a remote Indonesia island. They had generators though (for the guest houses anyways), but the sky was clear and packed with stars. I do miss it, do you?

I've never slept in a grave, that would be weird. But I have slept in a hole 5 feet deep that was dug by me and my freind. Believe me, it was cold in that hole.

LOL, I know what you're talking about. It gets worse if the ground is wet, no matter how much ground sheets there are.

It would be the bike. When ever my father is the driver I feel so very cool and relaxed that more often then not i fell asleep. Once I fell a sleep on the motorcycle while we were going to a market place in Guwahati(it was a new city for us at that time).

I used to enjoy that when the weather is good. Just make sure you are protected against bugs and wild animals :)
