do you give money to beggars?if you don't ARE YOU BAD?

i see a lot of beggars on the street. most of them have really good bodies and could work instead of just asking for alms so i tend not to give money. sometimes i give my sandwich or crackers to them. but most of the time i walk pass them because my parents say that they are just part of a syndicate or they will just use the money for rugby or drugs. am i bad for not giving to them? do you give alms to beggars?

i used to give alms to beggars but later restricted it to only elder ones and children.
My reason being that, there was this young man who normally stays along my street to beg cos he's disabled on one leg and most times, i used to give him money. One day, i went to visit a friend late one evening who stays few streets from my house & met a scene, this same beggar was seriously fighting a beautiful girl, when i asked someone what the problem was, he told me that the girl in question is his girlfriend who he spends all he has but later found out the girl has been cheating him & is seriously dating another person, i was just pissed & resolved not to give alms to young beggars.

I don't give money to beggars on the street. Sometimes I will buy the magazine a group for the homeless publishes. If I am in the city I don't give money to any of them, but if I am in my home vllage and it is people playing music or raising money for the cancer society or whatever, I do give them money.

Sometimes, i give money to beggars. i never think about who are they. i just give money to them. if they used my money to do bad thing, it is up to them.
