This is something i cant even imagine. I probably think that during that time - in 1912 I would have stayed. beeing a woman back then was so much harder than it is now..
If it happened now, It depends on the other facts.. do we have children - if so I would have put them first,. To grow up without both parents is something noone should have to do...

What a horrible horrible decision to have to make! I actually watched the movie "Titanic" again about 4 days ago and cried at the awful things they must have had to endure... Ultimately I think I would have stayed with my husband. It would be better to both die than have to survive without him.

If I were on the Titanic and had the choice to use a safety boat I wouldn't do it if that means I have to leave my spouse behind even if he insists. I simply wouldn't have the heart to do that and I would stay so we can face the unknown together.

I would have stayed on the ship with my husband no matter what. I don't know how I would have gone through my life afterwards, (if I had gotten on a lifeboat without him), knowing what horror he faced as the ship went down. In fact, when we went to see "Titanic" we had talked about that, and yes I would have stayed on the ship with him.
