Can your child talk nonstop?

I swear my youngest could talk all day and all night. She gets off the bus after school and she talks until she falls asleep. It is hard for anyone else to get a word in edge wise because she always has a different subject to talk about. I think we relive her entire day when she gets home. Maybe she takes notes during the day on what she has to tell me*L* She makes me tired some nights because of her talking. I have to make her stop because someone else wants to talk. She will stop for that time but the minute that person is done she starts right up. It can be funny and it can drive me nuts. Do any of your children do that?

i can easily relate to your storyLOL. my 4year old daughter is like that. she doesn't get tired of talking all day long. everytime i get home from work, her nanny always complain that she can't even concentrate on her favorite soap opera on tv because of the little girl's endless blabber. whenever my girl sees that i'm not listening to her stories, she immediately cups my face so i've got no other option but to look at her while she talks and talks. so adorable...

lol I can picture that and oh that gave me a giggle. Why would that bother the nanny when it is her job to watch her? I would say she wouldn't be able to watch any tv at any other job.

My 12 year old son has been that way all his life! He has ADHD, and I think that this might be part of the problem. He also can not sit still for very long, no matter what he is doing. It has been a struggle in school, too, but the medication the doctor put him on made him into a zombie, so I took him off of it. I just decided that I could live with the non-stop talking. My husband on the other hand, can't take it and even when he is begging our son to just be quiet for 2 minutes, he is still talking over his dad! When we are in the car, we all three play the quiet game, and see who can be quiet the longest. No talking and no making sounds, it usually lasts about 5 minutes tops. Hopefully, they outgrow it at some point in life. tdbrower1969

My youngest one talks more then my child with ADHD. I took mine off of her meds because everyone seemed to make it so she couldn't go to the bathroom and she would get so sick. She actually does well in school off her meds now that we have teachers that understand her and take the time to keep her on task. I am so excited because right now she is getting all As and Bs which as you probably know is so very difficult. Her dad too doesn't really get the whole thing and gets can not understand why she can't sit still or remember something he told her to do in the morning for her to do after school. That is a whole other topic I guess isn't it*L*

Yes, I also have a baby girl of one year old. She's so cute that I can't help viewing her photos in my cellphone at anytime possible. She likes to talk as well. Sometimes it makes you think she's talking about nonsense, because it just doesn't make any sense and she feels fine. Maybe, when I was one year old, I did the same, who knows?

Oh yes the why stages. I love some of those why questions. There dad however is very uncomfortable with the why questions at time. I tell him to answer in simple terms and if you panic they will know*L*

My 4 yr old son can hold a running dialogue for hours lol!! When we go on long car he can keep talking the whole time. Everything from the Titanic to asteroids. It can be very endearing and then other times the most annoying thing you have ever heard. gotta love it though!!

LOL we go through the same thing on car rides. When I worked all the time I swore I find out about every thing they and every friend was doing. Now since I am home I hear about it always.

Our 16-year old has done this all her life. She never seems to run out of things to say. It is not boring.

my youngest is also a motor mouth...non stop. It does get to me at times....you know, sometimes I want to have my own thoughts but it is difficult when my ears and head are constantly bombarded with the incessant ramblings of a 5 year old. I am trying to convince her that she does not have to utter every thought that comes to mind, that she CAN think inside her head and keep it private at times. lol, it is my own fault...whenever the rare occasion occurs that she is quiet - I get her to talk to make sure she is alright. oye.

All three of my children are like that. Its really fun when they all decide to talk to me at te same time. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings so I just politely remind them who was first and if they feel that they can't wait that they can go tell grandma or dad.

I only have two at home that have to compete for talking rights*L* My oldest is on her own now.

Lol haha sounds like fun! You're lucky though, at least you can understand what she is saying, my daughter is 16months old and has discovered 'gobble-di-ghook!' She will sit and talk to herself and it is complete nonsense, id love to know what she is saying, every now and then il catch a complete 'normal' word, such as nooo, as she shakes her head, then continues on in the own little world! I find it completely fascinating and could listen to it all day! Sounds like you have a bright and bubbly young child who cant wait to get home and tell you how great her day has been! I know a lot of parents who complain that their kids are withdrawn after school and its a nitemare just to get them to tell you what they ate for lunch! I bet you giggle to yourself when she just doesnt stop going on!

Having 3 daughters I remember those days of watching them just chatter and not understanding them. How fun those days were. Yes I must say none of my daughters are the withdrawn type. I guess it is a good thing and I wouldn't know how to handle a child that didn't talk about their day. I think as a parent I would be very worried about my child if they didn't talk.

Hey that is a good idea. She has dwarfism so as she is getting older she is trying to decide what career she can do that her size won't matter. An activist is an excellent idea. She would get their attention*L*
