Do you play any "board games" on the computer?

Yahtzee - computer or hands on game?

There was a trend at one time to transfer most all of the common board games to computer versions. I personally enjoy a game of yahtzee on the computer and scrabble. But some games just don't transfer over well if you ask me (for instance Monopoly) and lose something in the translation from hands on board games to electronic version computer games. Do you play any board games on the computer? Which ones?

Yes. I was able to download Monopoly for PC last year. It was fun specially since it was the 3d version. I liked the narrator's voice and all the tokens can talk. LOL. It's really fun. I also have monopoly on my pocket pc as well as scrabble. I think Monopoly is my favorite board game. I actually have the actual board game and I don't get tired playing it.

I get bored with monopoly on the board version so I'm thinking computer version might be worse for me! At least with the board version I have little houses and hotels to play with! LOL

I like to play the game of life, as well as scrabble on the pc, but its kind of boring to play against the computer and i can never convince my hubby to play. He's more of an action gamer.. he would probably cry if he lost his ps2. i'm glad he can't affor a ps3 or i would never get any time with him without a controller in his hand LOL.

I think most males tend to enjoy action games as opposed to women who choose thinking ones. Most women love games like tetris or chuzzle or scrabble, etc. because it takes some thinking or perhaps isn't over fast paced. I know that's why I prefer them. I like to relax when I play games.

I'm that way too. My ISP provides us with one free game every month or so on Real Games to download and have for free. I have every word game they've ever given us and love them! I'll play anything word oriented. Must be a thing with my big mouth and always talking? LOL

I have tried to pay Monopoly and Sorry, without success. I have played Backgammon which is my favorite all time game but I would rather do it the old fashioned way.

I think there are some versions of games that just don't transfer well into computer version.

The only board game i play on my computer is Internet Checkers which is included in Windows XP. I have played it on many occasions and i like the simplicity of the game. I used to play the board game version as well but i prefer the online one because its quicker and i can play against people from all over the world.

So funny...I thought you were spying on me again...LOL...as I was just switching over to myLot from playing Yahtzee online....then I noticed that this was a post from 3 months ago...So now you are off the hook for always knowing what I'm buying or doing!!LOL...I'm multi tasking tonight...watching the Mariner's/Toronto game and getting on and off the computer...but to answer your original post..yes...I love board games but husband thinks they should be called "bored" games..so I never have anyone to play them with...so off to the computer to play them online!!! I love it!!!

Yes, I in fact, am an affiliate of one that offers free downloads of their games. They are great. Here is the link: http://web.mac.com/angelkitty1441s2/iWeb/
