Is the Youtube community becoming immature & less friendly ?

I used to like you-tube back in the hay days when it was still relatively new and wasn't acquired by Google yet. But lately, whenever I get on to watch some of the videos I'm noticing that nearly 92% of the comments posted consists of either profanity, hate, "dissing", ignorant racial comments, or just simply filled with spam.
Now when you get on You-Tube, it seems like its becoming more of a mySpace because its basically a popularity contest.
I wonder who much things would change if they implemented a paying system like myLot.
Even so, I still get on that site once in a while because it has videos that can't be found anywhere else (usually).

Dont even begin... thankfully there are sites like Veoh and Metacafe which have heavy moderation of comments, and yet allow copyrighted stuff to be posted, to take Youtube´s place.
i can only stand so many "if you dont post this in 5 different vids, Vishnu will come and rape you" - Style comments

I had problems leave a reply to you-tube. I don't know why. But I saw some what you said here. I was watching a video at youtube, and i saw some replies there, that just mocking each other. What i watched is some artist MV, and apparently this member was mocking other member with nasty words for being fans of this artist. The other member is getting furious and said some nasty back at this member. Well, i get a little bit irritating just read it. I don't think it's a great idea to implement paying system, but if if they decrease the money if you saying nasty things, that will be nice rules..LOL.
