A friend of mine just told me she and her boyfriend and marrying May 4, and moving to Florida. THey just sold their house. They are going to Tampa with their little boy and neither have a job yet or anything. I would be so nervous about this! Would you do this?

Sometimes I envy those that have this kind of "moxy"..I am such a planner when it comes to live decisions..I'm spontaneous in my daily life..but not in that capacity!! I would be a wreck..but who knows..they may move into great opportunities that they would have missed out on if they had stayed put!!! More power to them..and best of luck!!

I did just that. We lift New York and MOved to Florida 11 years ago. It was without a job or a place to live. it was the best thing we have ever done. I live near Tampa if you need help e-mail me. My address in on my blog page http://itscarolee.tripod.com/

I have actually done this!!!!
We were working in Connecticut on a power plant and when the job was completed, we decided to move. We just got in the truck and starting driving south.
We had Tennessee in mind to begin with, because there were no state taxes. BUt, when we saw West Virginia we fell in love....bought an old farmhouse and 100 acres and the rest is history.

I personally wouldn't be able to do this. I am too much of a homebody so I would have to stay near my parents and the rest of my family. However, my Aunt and Uncle did this very same thing about three years ago. They were living in Chicago and they came out of no where with the decision to move to Florida. They couldn't be happier. My mom and I finally went down there to visit them and I must say, they are very happy together, but they have no friends. They don't know their neighbors, they don't talk to anyone but themselves and they don't hang out with anyone else. To me, that isn't really living. That's being a loner but a marrier couple loner. I guess for some people it works and others it doesn't.

NO way! Unless I got a REALLY REALLY good job but even then I could not move far away from my parents because they babysit and help us out a lot and couldn't imagine being too far away from them. I have lived in NC for 12 years and I think moving somewhere else would be really hard.
