Yes, the paypal 'expanded code' will be shown in your credit card statement after you add a credit card to your paypal account. This is to verify that you are the actual owner of the credit card that you are adding to your account.Once you add the cc, a 4 digit number will appear on the cc statement. When you enter in to the site, they will activate the credit card added to your account and add a small amount of less than $2 to your paypal account. After that you could pay from your paypal account using your credit card.

Dear Bluewings, becuase I have written down the wrong digit numbers three times, so they refused me to add the credit card. Now, how can I do?
And could you tell me what it will be used if adding a credit card sucessfully? Sorry for asking you such simple questions, because I am a new user here :))
Anyway, thank you very much.

Hi James. You could try adding the card once again and if the site doesn't refuse it ,you will receive another expansion code.If it refuses ,then try contacting the paypal support through the contact link and explain to them that you accidentally entered the wrong code and if there is a way to add the card.
You could also add a different credit card and receive another expansion code, but I'd suggest first you try adding this card one more time.Goodluck:)
