i just wonder whats this friends section all about here in mylot? some people ask me to approve them to be friends here. whats the function of it here? what are the possibilities of many friends, whats the advantage to have many friends here in mylot?

It is good to choose friends based on their interests and the discussions that have started and taken part in. The advantage of it is that your friends will come up on your home page and you get to see any new discussion they have started. In theory it helps you participate more often and more thoroughly because they should be posting things of interest to you. It just helps you cut out the search process of finding discussions you care about and want to respond to.
It also helps others to get to know you a little better and begin to reply to your discussions as well.
