I've seen a lot of people while driving a car they also doing texting. OMG!... that is mostly the cause of car accident. JUst later this evening, i was biking around the village, about 3 rounds. I have seen this man texting with his mobile while biking. i was the one who got nervous when he almost collide with the car that was turning his way. Oh i was really nervous. Thank God, the car saw him but almost. It was the guy on the bike has the fault. I've seen him very faint. I think he had learned his lesson there. we should do safety precaution and avoid doing things that will cause accident.
What about you have you tried it? do you have an experience to share? What can you say to those people who do such thing?

people on bike is most common here in germany, almost all of the households have bike/bikes but i never seen anyone texting while biking, thats really dangerous and harder than texting while driving a car.

oh, no. i can neither perceive how can one do some text messaging while driving without exposing himself to the risk of having an accident on the road. texting is not something that we can do with still two hands on the steering wheel and all concentration still on the driving and the road.

Oh my goodness! Texting while on a bike? No, I've never seen that! I do not even try to dial my cell phone while driving let alone text!!! It is very dangerous and all it takes is a second to lose control of a car and kill someone. I would never want to text while driving or biking. I would tell someone who would do this that they are being very careless!

It's funny you mention this, because just a few weeks back, my partner was in rush hour traffic on the way home from work.
In the lane at the side of him was a lady in a little sport car. She was holding her cell phone to her ear with one hand, and using her other hand to text someone on her blackberry!!
She wasn't looking where she was going, and neither hand was on the steering wheel of her car. Her car started swerving towards ours, and so my partner slammed his hand on the horn.
Apparently she jumped, dropped her cell and then had the audacity to flip the bird at my partner. He rolled his window down and shouted "Do that again lady, and I'll break your damn finger! You should be watching where the hell you're going!" LOL. Nothing like being clear about what you mean eh?
But the point is, she was a danger to, not only herself, but to everyone around her. If she'd been seen by the RCMP, she'd have been in huge trouble.
I just don't get those people who are so wrapped up in their own perfect lives that they forget they have a certain responsibility to others around them too - especially whilst driving.

i dont text while driving. im not fond of texting anyway. i usually call using a speaker phone in my car, that way i wont be distracted and i could still focus on the road.

I have not text while biking, but I have talked on cell a few times, it just takes away from my quicker reaction, cause I know if i turn to fast, I will prolly fall, cause thats just how I am when I turn to sharp with only one hand. But I really dont see how someone can text while biking, I have troubles enough just texting regularly =)

until i have come across this discussion, i have always considered it as an impossible thing to do. it is beyond my grasp why people are so reckless on the road. if that guy did have an accident, the people will immediately point an accusing finger at the car driver unless, someone like you who had witnessed the incident comes forward as an eyewitness and relate the entire incident.

i never had such an experience, and i dont plan to have to. it would be so unsafe to text while biking. i might as well just stop for a while and text or maybe just go ahead biking and stop somewhere else just to text. you cant do two things at a time. always safety first

I have to admit that I have used text messenges while I was driving. I know that this is something that should not be done, but to be honest i have never had a problem with it. I have seen people though who seem to get too involved in texting. They are always swerving, and I have even seen a guy that hit a guard rail. I think that it is just like talkig on the phone when you drive. There are people who can do it without any problem, and then there are people who cannot. I personally do not like to talk on my cell phone when I drive, but I know that i can text with no problem. i should also tell you that when i text while driving I do not take my eyes off of the road. i know what letters go with what button so that I can text by touch.

I have not tried it and I wouldn't try it. I can text while walking and stuff but that's because I have the keys memorized and know how to do it without looking. I don't think it's smart to try doing it at times like that.
