Last night I prepared broiled catfish for our dinner. An hour after that I got so many rashes and bumps. Because I have allergy to seafood. I've been trying to explain to my husband what is Malansa in English and the only word I could think of is Fishy taste. But fish is fish and it has a fishy taste. Is there another definition for Malansa other than fishy? Any Advice? Thanks!!

stench of (rotten) fish might be a good suggestion for the english translation of malansa. Usually the freshwater fishes like tilapia, hito (catfish), lapu-lapu (grouper)and carp have this stench smell/odor.

This is a six year old discussion but I came across this as I searched in the mylot bar for English translation of "malansa". This is a tagalog word which many called fishy in English but I bet there is a more appropriate English equivalent for this word. I can't sue fishy because there are some food that are malansa although they are not fish. Hahahaha!
So I searched online but got nothing but fishy or stench or rotten which to me are not really appropriate translation. So anyone who can answer this question?
