I am so proud of good old Al. Ever since he brought out the slide show, I've seen a remarkable response from all over the world. Of course what has helped is the bizzar weather the world over. But, he is my hero.
He got everyone to pay attention and focus, which may not be a problem in other parts of the world but, here in the U.S. we have the attention span of gnats.
I admire him and the Clintons' because they know how to get things done. They know who to surround themselves with to make change happen. Al Gore is from that great school of thought many people from their generation were brought up in, that is to DO SOMETHING IN YOUR LIFE TO HELP OTHERS. MAKE A STAND.
Thank all of their parents for raising kids that truely give a damn about others. And, thank Al Gore for his incredible effort to get our attention. If it doesn't work ,at least he tried. And, well, then Mother Nature will certainly get our attention much more than she has already.

I agree. Something must be done to slow the global warming. I'm not sure we can stop it entirely, but we need to at least try for our future generations. I've been teaching my son about recycling and reusing things, and we've switched to cloth bags to take our groceries home in. We also limit the amount of gasoline we use and try to conserve energy at home. If North Americans would get it into their heads that they don't need gas guzzling SUV's and stopped using planes to travel (planes are huge pollutors), reduced post consumer waste and conserved energy, we might make some progress.

I know North America is a big pollutor. Even in my own neighborhood we have one of the biggest abusers. Sometimes we have a stench no one can seem to figure out. DUH! The delaware river is a few blocks from my house and I shudder to think what is in there. When I started recycling,I felt alone but I use energy bulbs, recycle like a maniac, walk instead of drive. And now it seems everyone is getting into the act and I love it. Tonight on abc they are doing a show about 7 continents/7 ways to save our home. Also on Discovery they have a new show called planet earth on sunday nights, it's great and maybe all of these things will inspire more people to do the right thing. Yeah, the suv thing is sad. My sister in law drives this tank around, all by herself,it's stupid. It's glutany and for people who are well off, I'd think they would be "green" in every way possible. I know if I had money,I'd do everything I could. But still It's nice to know than even low income people like me can do things to help. I take alot of pride in the things I can do.
