Will you go see Dirty Dancing in the theaters when it is re-introduced?

I've heard that they are putting new scenes that have previously been cut and some other extra stuff, so I suppose it would be worth paying to see once. I'm not so sure I'd pay to see something I own on DVD though!
I'm a huge fan of the movie and own my own copy on DVD so it's not like I wouldn't go because of the actual movie, but more so the fact that I already have it at home!
What about you, will you see the re-release in the theaters?

I can tell you that I would definately not waste my money. If they want to release it to DVD with the new stuff on it, well so be it. I loved the movie in its original format.

I'm much the same in your thoughts. I loved the original movie but not so sure I'd go see it for the price of a full movie. I will go see it though if it goes to our dollar theater! LOL I can attest for spending under $10 but definitely not the full price of a movie!

No I don't think so. I have seen it so many time already I dont see any sense in paying more money just to see a few extra scenes.

I might go to see it at the theater. It's one of my favorite movies. Like you, I have it at home, however there are supposed to me some never before scenes in this one.

I won't go to the theatres to see a movie to see it if I own it. I went to the theater with my kids when they were little to see the Lion King when it was first released. Having been to Kenya it mean alot to me. I now own it on DVD, and I had it on VHS before.

I'd really like to. It's a classic and there's something about seeing things on the big screen that's more special than watching them on TV. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who'd be interested in going to see it with me!

Like you i also own a DVD copy of Dirty Dancing. I dont think there's anything they can put in that isnt already included in the DVD! But anyways if it comes out in theaters i will go see it! owing a DVD is one thing but enjoying the movie on the big screen like it was meant to be is something totally different.
I wonder why we dont see more of Patrick Sawyze(hope i spelled his name right)?

He's been in a lot of other films but never a huge single name actor. Ghost is one of my favorites of his. He's been around, just not overly obvious. He was the voice of Cash in The Fox and The Hound 2, he was in a movie that bombed in 2000 called Jump, a tv movie called King Solomn's Mines in 2004, and Black Dog in '98. He has had other movies, some made for tv, that he was in but nothing that came to the peak of Ghost or Dirty Dancing.

I've got the DVD too. Even got the Special Edition version so I probably won't go see it in the theater. It won't be the same. I saw the "sequel" they did - 'Havana Nights' and it didn't seem anything like the first one. The so-called TV series they had made bombed fast.

Oh I hated the "sequel" too but think about it... none of the REAL characters were in it so how could it even remotely be as good? I think my version of the DVD is a "special edition" too but I'm not sure if that's all the re-release is?

Sad to say it will not come to my area I am a die hard fan of this movie matter of fact it is playing in the background were I tivoed it recently I just love it and was only about eight when it was at theaters first time around but sometimes living in places in the southeast is a pain Alabama in what is a big town but we don't get things that the people in Huntsville or Birmingham have access to.

Do you know when and where it will be showing? This is one show that I'd love to see in theater. I live in the Greater Toronto Area.

It came out probably a month or so ago I think and was only playing in limited theaters for a limited time. I'm not sure how to find out if it's in your area, sorry! I do believe they will have the "re-release" available on DVD too but I may be wrong.

When Dirty Dancing is in the theaters oh yes I will definately go and see it when it is re-introduced, I loved the first one so I can imagine I would love the second one as well, I normally don't go to the theatre that much I watch a lot of different movies on my dvd but definately for this one I would go there.

I wanted to see Grease (I know its not clean but I liked it better!) but I never made it to see it.

I keep telling myself that I'll get in there today but never make it. I have a couple of pix in there and dropped off a poem I wrote after my daughter's wedding
Thanks again
