"Have you thought of these two words - Hello & Hi Which is more appealing to you? and Why" This question was asked in an Interview where the job seeker was to be employed in a Managerial Post in a top Inc. Mine is Hi. What about yours? hi or hello.

Both are in vogue. Hello is a bit ancient whereas Hi is modern. It doesn't mean that you only use Hi and discard Hello. For, Hi should not be used in certain places such as when you are addressing your manager or a senior. There Hello is a must. Now, you well understand what's the difference between Hello and Hi.

I would think it all depends on who you are saying it to. I think hello is more professional and hi is more friendly. I use hello to email to people I don't know. and uses hi to my friends. Same thing as in real life.

I really don't have a favourite, it depends on the person, when some people say hello is like music to my ears, hi is more intimate but not necessarily better. Hi, I am selling tooth brushes does not have to be intimate, I don't know you and by saying hi rather than hello, you are not gonna make me decide to buy your product.

I belive that Hello is more formal , and i like to use it when i'm talkin with someone i don't know or the first time i meet :) Hi is used among firends more .. it indicates free relation and communication between the parties of the conversation ... i'd like to share you this song : Hello www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDZcqBgCS74 enjoy .. :)

It all depends on the person and situation, i have never really thought about it before, it just tends to come out natural with whatever seems appropriate, if i bump into a mate on the streets i usually say 2hey sappanin en)" (hey wots happening then)
