anyone out there that is breastfeeding and wants to boost their supply...i have a wonderful recipe for lactation cookies. anyone can eat them though. no..you wont start to lactate if you arent already. this recipe just helps to boost supply. and they are healthy and taste yummy. well here it is...
1 cup of butter
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of brown sugar
4 tablespooons of water
2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal
2 large eggs
1 tsp of vanilla
2 cups of flour...preferably wheat flour
1 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 cups of thick cut oats (oatmeal..just not instant)
1 cup or more of chocolate chips or peanut butter chips
2 -4 tablespoons of brewers yeast...has to be brewers yeast
preheat oven to 375
mix flaxseed meal with water and set aside
beat butter and sugar well
add eggs and mix well
add vanilla to mix, beat well
sift together all dry ingredients except for oats and chips
add to butter mix
stir in oats and chips
scoop onto baking sheet and cook for 15 mins.
the key to making more milk is the brewers yeast and oatmeal. use as much as you like.
they are yummy and do increase breastmilk. i ate 2-3 good sized cookies an hour before nursing and i was overflowing.
enjoy!!!
