Have you ever thought long and hard about reviving someone in need? With todays vast fatal epidemics running rampid, such as aids and many other deadly diseases that choice would be something to think about. Say for instance you were in the mall, you notice a crowd ahead surrounding an individual. Someone yells "He needs cpr! Anyone knows cp?" You are the only one that is available to revive this person. You could go down in history as a life saver. Would you put your mouth on this stranger's mouth?

Yes I would, but not without precautions. I train people in CPR and First aid. and to safe a life is a wonderful thing even if you don't go down as a hero you know yourself that person is living because of you. In that situration you can always put some kind of barrier betwenn their mouth and yours. They even sell them threw red cross that you can carry in your purse or pocket. Chef Michael

What if it is a situation where you did not have a barrier? They is no time to find a barrier. Would you?

I hope I never come across this situration. I want to say it wouldn't matter but I also don't want to jeperdize my life and leave my kids fatherless because I want to help a stranger. Hmmn gives one something to think about. Chef Michael

I is probably simple enough to find something to create a barrier, like a plastic bag, to avoid direct contact witht he lips and mouth. What people don't realized that often the person being rescucitated will vomit during the cpr efforts. This is due to the amount of agitation the stomach goes through during compressions. You need good reflexes to avoid getting a face full.

If it came down to it I hope I would get on task to help save a person's life. I don't think I could stand around and let somebody die if I knew how to save them.

maybe if he's cute. or atleast he or she doesn't look yucky. heheheh! but most probably there's another person who knows cpr. i might wait for a minute or two and i would slowly move into the scene. i won't rush and shout that "i know how to do cpr!"

I have thought about this and I personally wouldnt be able to do it because I dont want to contract anything from someone that I dont really know. The only way that I might do this is to a child.

I think I would just do chest compressions if I was really concerned about contracting something. Better that than nothing.
