How many of you remember Lynda Carter? You might not recognize the name but she played Wonder Woman back in the 70's. I hadn't really seen her in TV or movies in a long time. Lately though I have seen her in movies and TV. She played the Principal in the movie "Sky High". I have also seen her on Law and Order and Law and Order SVU. Tonight though I saw her on Smallville playing Chloe Sullivan's mother. It is great to see her again after so long of an absence. I loved her in Wonder Woman, one of my favorite shows as a kid, and everything I've seen her in lately she has done fabulously. She's still a good actress and I like the fact that she's being seen once again.
So does anyone else remember her? Have you seen her on any shows or movies recently?

I did reconize her name. She did play as wonder woman and she was very pretty. I have not seen her in anything for years though. Gosh that was years ago. Amazing how it just came back to me from reading your discussion. Is she still as pretty as she was?

She's very pretty still. I just learned she was also in the new "Dukes of Hazzard" movie. I did't know that one. I can't add a picture right now (at my limit) but if you want you can look at her here. The images are from "Sky High" and "Dukes of Hazzard". Hope you enjoy:

Yes, I LOVE Lynda Carter! her eyes are so pretty and she's still pretty hot! :) I used to watch Wonder Woman when I was little. I wish they showed re-runs somewhere because I think my son would like it since he's in to super heros and all. :) She was great in SKY HIGH! We own that movie because of my son and it's a really cute story. I have seen her in a few things here and there. She is the spokeswoman for a place like 1800CONTACTS, I think or something like that.

I forgot she did those commericials till I read it here and went "Duh of course she did" hehe. I loved her in Sky High and even how she poked at herself at the one point when she stated "I've done all I can do. Who do you think I am Wonder Woman?"

Heheh I haven't heard the term underroos in a long time. I loved watching it too. F/X had it in reruns when they first started out and I got to watch them again for awhile but now to my knowledge no one is showing them.

All I have to say is Wonder Woman! I remember her on the show. I haven't seen her in a movie or on T.V. The last time I saw her she was doing a commercial.I'm glad she is still working.

Hey, EmeraldIsle -
I caught a few minutes of that myself, and of course I immediately recognised Lynda. She's one of the most wonderfully unchanged faces that I remember from the '70s.
She looks great, eh?
And what a part she had - she was weeping for the camera, and doing a great job of it.
Huh, I always enjoyed "Wonder Woman". So glad I'm not the only one who saw her the other day! It's nice to know that she's remembered fondly. ... I wonder if she's got a website!
Hold on a mo...
http://www.wonderland-site.com
Wait! Turn down your speakers first! Ugh...too late. Hee.
But really, whoever this person is, they made a nice little site and it looks like Lynda has chatted with some of the members. That's my pic as the best site for her - it seems everything else is just a pile of pictures.
And why not?! She's lovely and always will be. :)

Thanks for the link :) I book marked it and will go through it later. I agree she's a beauty and I loved her role last night. She was fantastic in it. She played a bad guy on the Law and Orders, a con artist with a daughter. She did a great job in that as well. Very believable.

You were right it was here. I agree she looked very good in tonight's episode. In the Law and Order I saw her in there were some scenes for when she was on trial and then in jail where she was showing her age. Overall though I think she's aged beautifully. I wish I looked as good as she did.

I used to love watching Wonder Woman...when I was younger. I thought she was so pretty. I actually have not seen her in anything for a long time now? It is nice that she is making a come back though. Hopefully...I will see her in something soon.

Hello Emeraldisle,
Absolutely I remember her. "Wonder Woman" was one of my favorites, too.
Frankly, I think that Lynda Carter may just be one of the most beautiful actresses to ever grace Hollywood.
I haven't seen her in anything in several years. But, I'm glad to hear that she's been more visible lately.

I think she is as well. She's a beautiful lady and she still is even if she's older. It's nice to see her in things once more. I loved her in what I have seen her in and would like to see more. It's nice to see the actors we grew up with still around instead of all these new faces we dont' recognize.

She's a beautiful woman I agree and I think it's all natural. I saw her on a Law and Order and at the one point they brought her from prison. You know it was to look like she had no make up on and all. She had some hard edges to her but she was still beautiful. You could see she'd aged but she's done it gracefully.

Tall with dark, curly hair. I think Lynda Carter made these sort of women popular as opposed to the blonde Barbie type. I thought she was fabulous.
Lucy Lawless as Xena Warrior Princess is similar in a modern day sense. I think Xena has better writers but then again, I love the whole fantasy/mythology scene.

I think the writers were better as well but it could also be difference in times. The 70's style of acting and tv shows were very different then today. I've noticed that with many shows that I see in reruns from when I was growing up. The acting and story lines were not as good as the ones they are doing now.

Sky High was the most recent thing I have seen her in. And a kind of campy vampire movie in 206 called Slayer it was a tv movie I think.
I was also a fan of the Wonder Woman show, though I preferred when they did the WWII era.
I also liked her in a short lived detective series with Loni Anderson, called Partners In Crime it only lasted a season 1984
I read somewhere she did the voice in a video game.

I remember that show Partners In Crime. They were both wives to this guy at different times and he left the business to them in his will. It was very good and I wish it had been on longer. I had forgotten about it though until you mentioned it.

Lynda Carter is a wonderful (no pun intended) actress. Watching her on Smallville was terrific. I know I am dating myself but.. I watched the WonderWoman series as a teenager and loved it. She has a commanding prescence on the screen and yet seems so natural. I love the way she can poke fun at herself like in Sky High. I even remember her on The Muppet Show.

Ya' know I think the biggest "Muppets" fan may have been my Father. He was otherwise a rather serious guy, but when those characters were on the screen, oh how he would laugh. He was particularly fond of the little old muppet men. You know, the kermudgeons.
I haven't thought about the "Muppets" in years. Thanks for bringing back that memory of my Dad laughing like a kid.

Hehe I remember when she was on the Muppet Show. She sang a song with Pow or something similiar in it and every time she said one of the muppets went flying by. It was cute. A lot of people guest starred on there over the years. Oh if it helps I was even younger when I watched it on tv.

Heheh I always wondered that as well. I saw something on it not that long ago but I cannot remember what they said. I don't think it was anything fancy though to keep it.
Thank you. Lassie, that's her name, came to us from Collie Rescue. She's a great dog and I'm glad to have her with us. We had tricolors when I was growing up. This is the first sable I have had. They are very special dogs I agree.

I always thought she rocked as a kid. LOL I can't honestly say how good of an actress she is though. I don't think Wonder Woman was exactly something anyone should base her acting skills on, although it is what put food on her table for many years! I probably have seen her on other shows and not realized it.
How are her acting abilities? Just curious.

She's a very good actress. I've seen her in several made for tv movies and she had another show for a while back in the 80's. Those were very good. Didn't see her for a long time and then all of a sudden she's back. What I've seen her in lately has been excellent. She really does a fantastic job in making the characters believable.

As a guy who grew up in the 1970s and '80s, of course I remember Lynda Carter...and of course I remember Wonder Woman, the TV series. The pilot movie starred (yikes) Cathy Lee Crosby, but when ABC-TV decided to air the series Carter was cast as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman and Lyle Waggoner was that...Army major/pilot whose name escapes me right now. The first season was set during WWII, and whenever Diana had to change from her Navy WAVES uniform into her WW costume, she had to spin slooowly as the Navy blues became the more revealing superheroine outfit.
While I'm on the subject, when Playboy magazine ran a quiz about classic comic book superheroes, the sub-headline was "Can you think of two reasons Wonder Woman is so wonderful?"

Now I heard they were two seperate ideas and pilots. One production house did the one and the other was done by another company. The one with Lynda Carter though came out first so the other company dropped the idea. At least when I saw the pilot with Cathy Lee Crosby they gave that bit of trivia about it. I saw it in on AMC originally but have seen it on other shows since.

Wonder woman was a good show when I was growing up also. I saw her on "Sky High", but I don't remember seeing her on Law and Order. Me and my husband were discussing shows that were on when we were growing up and I had mentioned I thought she had played "Isis" also. He said he didn't think so! Maybe someone else remembers if she did or not.

Isis was played by JoAnna Cameron. Yes I do remember it :) I loved watching it. I couldn't remember her name and had to look that up and in the process found out they might be making a movie of the story line. In the mean time they are going release the series to DVD sometime this year. You can read more on it along with the original show here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_of_Isis

Oh man, when I was young I wanted to BE Wonder Woman. Lynda Carter was one of the most beautiful women back in the 1970's. She blew Farrah and the Charlie's Angels away--I thought she rocked!
They need to bring that show back.....

Oh I agree. I thought the ones on Charlie's Angels were nice looking but Lynda Carter was so much better looking. She also just seemed to have more confidence in a way then the others. At least it seemed that way to me.

Sky High is a great movie if you get a chance to see it. She's in it along with Kurt Russell, Bruce Campbell and many more. It's a good movie.
